Xanax

I am taking Xanax 0.25 mg in the morning and 0.25 mg in the afternoon and 0.75 mg at night.I wanted to know whether I can merge my morning and afternoon doses of Xanax with my night dose as I am then required by my Pdoc to taper Xanax by 0.125 mg a week(1/2 a 0.25 mg tab).I have reduced my morning and afternoon doses to 0.125 mg each without much side effects but I still feel sleepy with 0.125 mg so would want to move both doses to the night. Is it recommended. All suggestions are welcome.

I intend to skip first morning dose and then afternoon doses after a few days of skipping each other and only then taper the night dose as suggested by my Pdoc. Thanks for reply.

merging small doses into one large dose is not the way to taper/opposite...smaller doses thru the day/night is how people taper
the brain becomes trained to receiving smaller doses at a time and lets it heal a bit before u ct...combining ur doses into 1 large dose and then bombarding ur brain with the substance would be counterproductive

read the health pages..there is an article there on tapering benzos..communication with ur dr is very important as well

I was taking 2mg the highest dose 3 times a day I was very sleapy during the day and memory loss was a big problem.  I went from 6 down to 2 practically overnight.  Maybe go for the afternoon dose or morning dose but skip one give yourself a few days and try only your dose at night if you can.  You might have a problem with sleep after you finally drop your dose at night FYI.  Good luck you can do it!!
