COMING OFF SUBSTANCE ABUSE

my husband is in day 4 coming off substance abuse and has very severe tremors. He takes hot baths with epsom salts, eats bananas, drinks gaterade, supplement drinks, water, yogurt, but nothing helps. What else is out there to help with this withdrawal sympton

Hi. Welcome. I had pretty bad tremors when detoxing. Mine ended in a few days. I had them the first time I detoxed, and I did that cold turkey, but they were gone within a few days. The last time I detoxed, I checked myself into outpatient rehab, and they were able to give me some medicine to stop the tremors, but I was off that medication within a week, and they were gone. I don't know of anything that can make it go away, but I just wanted you to know that this will stop eventually. I hope your husband feels better soon. I experienced these tremors from benzos, btw.

HI and welcome...we do home detox all the time  but there are a few drugs that can be dangerous to just stop benzopines (valum clonipine atavan) should not just be stopped  nether can tramadole all these need to be tapered  the tremors have me consired  it is also ez to confuse tremors with restless leg syndrom witch is common with opiet detox witch uncomfortable is not life threting  give us a idea what he has been using and we can help  I will check back later and give you some yes or no answers  it is vital that he is honest it can be life threatening if he is not  .............Gnarly

To help yourself and your husband it would be helpful to know what your husband is withdrawing from, how much he was using and for how long also was it prescribed?

How are you feeling? Does anyone know? Do you have support at the moment.
