Xanax how to taper down

I have become addicted to Xanax and want to taper down.
Does anyone know how to properly taper off this drug in a manner that is safe.

Should I go sharp on the taper or cut just by very small amounts each week?

I am worried about telling my Psychiatrist because I am afrade he will cut me off completly. This is going to take a lot of will power because I love my little pills so much.

as always..taling this out with ur dr is best...ther is a great article in the health pages///the ashton journal///dealing with benzo tapering....slowly it has to be done..do u know where the health pages r?
