I will try to keep this as short as possible. I know you generally don't titrate but if someone could help me a bit I think it may be the only way I'm going to possibly make it.
I had back surgery, as told pain was from collapsed disk. Pain didn't leave and I was told the pain would go if I got off the pills. Went Rapid Detox. Pain stayed. Ended back on pain meds. Was told when I built up back pain would leave. Somehow made it, but wasn't on enough pain meds to do anything other than exercises.
Now, I find out collapsed disk was never the issue. L5 nerve is and they are working on it but by now I'm back on oxycodone, soma and they are using valuim to take me off Ativan and soma.
Question1. can being on soma while on valuim cause my words to slur? I'm am working with 3 doctors and they are all telling me something different. If I just stop soma will I not have seizures and be ok because of the valium and in the meantime figure out how many valuim I need to get by? One doc said 2 a day would be enough.
Two docs want me on both (soma and valuim) at the same time and I thing that is making me dingy.
2. If I can get the pain under some control could I just start cutting by 1/4 or 1/2? To just make life fun I have a humongous bakers cyst that is killing me and is so swollen they first thought I had blood clots.
I know just jumping off is best and they have said once they get my leg together they will help me do this but in the meantime any advice? If I titrate just a little anyway, does it make your pain so much worse that it would be smarter to stick to the doctors plan and do the cut after they figure out how to fix my leg? I find when I over step the time I'm to take the pain meds I hurt much worse. It is like being behind the pain.
Sorry, this is too long but I don't even know who to trust anymore. I accept you are not docs and are only giving me experiences but I don't know what to do.
