I wanted to reply a bit about immodium and vitamins durring wd. 2 years ago I followed the entire plan, I had all the recommended vit, immodiums, tylenol PMs, fruits, juices, hell my husband bought a new swimming pool as we read that swimming would help build back your normal endorphines. Now let me tell you.... None of this helped, I became suicidal as I was in so much misery, it was not emotionally or physically healthy and I had heavy withdrawal for 9 days!
My point is I don't think it's a good idea to do this alone!
Now about Suboxone... I researched it in great detail before I went down that road and it has given me a chance. Cattalina is right it is only a tool but because I have no cravings or withdrawal I am able work on my self emotionally with a counselor and continue work, take care of my family and function daily.. hell I feel "normal" again.
The best thing about it advertised in my community is that you can get from a doctor in his office so that you dont have to disrupt life. Again check out the web site I posted above.
Cattilina is also right that no pill can "save" you but..... this will give you the BEST advantage you will ever find. Please don't wait 2 more years as I did. Read about it, call about, and if you are an addict like most of us it will help. hugs and kisses
Your husband should take immodium to help with stomach and bowel issues. Going ct off oxys is horrible, I did it once and it was so bad I never took them again! Clonodine can help too, but that needs to be prescribed. Alot of doctors only use Suboxone for detox in an inpatient facility, but you may be able to find one to give him (and you) a 17-30 day detox taper plan. Read some of the posts about it tho, before you jump into it. It certainly helps with wds and in a longer term plan, but it's not without it's own risks. There is no pill out there that can "save" you. Suboxone is a tool to help people solidify their recovery, but you have to save yourself, and be willing to do the work to stay clean. There's alot of posts on this website about Suboxone as well as going ct off oxys. Theres more people around that will have vitamins, etc. to suggest that help. Stay strong it gets worse before it gets better - but it does get better! GL
Hello... WOW sounds very scary for you. So you and your hubby are addicted?
First I think your husband should not try this alone, I have done it and OMG it is the worst thing anyone could imagine.
I am only 3 days clean myself using SUBOXONE, it is a miracle how it helps. Please check in your community to find a doctor. I have posted the site for you. Go there type in your zip code and start calling now. This could save you both. Good luck and keep me informed. :)
