Second time has begun and I will WIN!

Ok here I go again. This time I am going to get off these little devil pills that I have developed such a craving for, I guess the main thing is they have begun to control my life and **** I want my life back! I am going to stick with CT and try the Thomas recipe, the only thing I am worried about is I have no Ativan or diazepam to take will the recipe still be as effective? As far as getting anything else, any suggestions? I will be on here all the time for support and I just pray that by this time next week I will be threw the worst! I do take Buspar and Effexor for my anxiety so could that be as effective as the Ativan or Volume? I am also a little concerned with the Vitamins if they are safe to take with my RX I guess I can call the pharmacy but if anyone has any info please share anything is so very, very, very appreciated!

Ditto on the hot baths, it just about makes your body fill normal for awhile, try to stay positive and take each symptom as one step closer to getting clean. I agree with movement walk allot if you can. You can do this, it is doable, it has been done, you are stronger then any dam pill Limbo

Good luck to you...I had some valium but really did not use it much during detox...I think vitamins and exercise are very important..but getting sleep is very important to so you feel stong...hang in there

Hi Missy,this is just a suggestion.Is it possible to get your physican to taper you-off in conjunction with the pharmacy,like getting your medication on a (Daily Basis) Say 6-pills one week and 5 the next and so on and so forth.in Canada we get Methadone from our regular pharmacies on a dauily basis,until we get clean time and then we get carries.I know how it is to TRY to taper,its all great when that bottle is full,but when we over-due it .then the anziety starts. Just a thought from somebody that got the medicines dispensed at that level. cheers john

yeah!!!missy you can do this.  i wil tell you it takes total commitment and hard work.  but i agree this time next wekk we will be celebrating!!!with you....girl you can so do this.  try some long hot baths with epsom salt it does wonders for the aches.  i am so excited for you there is nothing better than clean leaving.  the air even smells better lol.  when things get rough get on here and post post post.  we are here and we will help you!!!

The pharmacy is often the best source of decent, factual information.  The doc's are usually not too adept with it all.  I commend and congratulate you on givin' it a go again, and I'm here to support you through it!  You CAN DO IT...and you sound committed, as you're arming yourself with knowledge before going into the battle.  Toward the end of my w/d, when it was still bad, I used another benzo called alprazolam (Xanax).  Diazepam, or Valium, is supposed to work the best for w/d for several reasons, and I personally never really felt much effects from Ativan (lorazepam), when I took it many years ago.  Keep in mind that while going through w/d, some meds. can have an opposite effect on you (the benzo's SHOULD be fine), and some of these include herbal remedies.  It's always good to take a multivitamin, especially now, and I know there are some folks who've recommended others.  Also, though, keep in mind that you don't want excesses of them though, and A, D, E, & K are fat-soluable, not water-soluable, so any excess of them you take in will be stored in your body and can become toxic.  The water-soluable ones, you just pee out, that's why you pee what looks like something that came out of a nuclear reactor after taking a multivitamin.  Please watch the benzo's with the other meds. you are taking, and don't add any without talking to your doc.  Good luck, see you on the other side, and in between of course for support!

That is smart to check with your pharmacy but you should not have a problem.  I do not use benzos...I changed the Thomas recipe a bit to suit our needs.  Some remedies that are all natural are in my journal if you are interested.  
You can do this...the support and compassion here is amazing.  Best of luck.
Prayer and positive thinking does wonders.....so does epsom salts and hot baths!
