can't sleep

It's 1:46 a.m. and I can't sleep!!!
Any other ideas for dealing with pain.  My back pain and especially sciatica is
excruciating.   I've tried cold and hot compresses and am even thing of hopping back in the tub.
The thought of going to work tomorrow or dealing with morning life at our home is giving me anxiety.
When does the sleep come back or is it because of the pain that I can't sleep?
Thanks in advance

Get in that tub for sure. I used to have the hardest time sleeping. After methadone I didn't sleep for 11 days....at all. work was out the question for me.

Try not to focus on sleep. If it happens it happens if not it will come. Taking the focus off falling asleep will actually help you get to sleep faster. Weird, lol, i know.

How long have you been off of what? what dose? that plays a big part in when the sleep will come back. If you feel safe enough trying the thomas recipe that will help. It is addictive though. The benzo's atleast.

Try over the counter pain relievers right now. At worst they will work as one hell of a placebo. Either try 440mg of naproxen, (2 aleve) OR try 800mg of ibuprofen and 500mg of acetominephen 45mins after taking the ibuprofen. Food might help relax your anxiety. Some warm comfort food. I feel your pain. been there. it *****. I hope some of this works and if you have any other questions there are so many great people here to help.

Get back in the tub and soak.  The sleep thing is really miserable for awhile but it does get better along with the pain.  I used to just get out of bed and read.  Seemed the longer i laid there tossing and turning the madder i would get!!!  Hang in there....sara
