can't stop crying

I had to post so maybe it would help me to quit crying so much.  This is my first day of withdrawals and I can't seem to quit crying.  I am taking my antidepressant but it doesn't seem to help much.  I just want the tears to go away.  My mind starts racing and I get mad at myself for putting myself and my family through this and I just start crying again.  Does anyone know any solutions to quit having the blues so bad.  Sorry to be such a downer I just needed to type to get the feelings out.

It is good to get those emotions out. It's also very important to talk to people. If you don't have folks at home who you can talk to about your addiction and what your going through going to NA can help. I'll bet just posting here has helped some. It helps us all when we help each other so keep on posting when you feel you need support. GBU, Corey PS congrats on your decision to quit. That's huge

You do need to release emotions sometimes.

You may also want to check out the Amino Acid Protocol - 5HTP and SaMe are both good for depression. I think worried878 has several good pieces of information in her journals on the Amino's -----  give them a chance..good luck also ------

give your antidepressant time to kick in.try to eat the best you can .whatever exercise you can get exspeically outside even if it just a walk. It does get better try to think ahead to how good a clean life will be .

Listen: the tears, the emotions... they're a GOOD thing. Remember when you were on dope and you couldn't feel any real emotions? When was the last time you cried? Trust me, you're releasing your true self.

I hear you - this is day one for you, and it's horrible I'm sure, and I don't doubt that the tears come from a place of pain. But, in the end you will be thankful that you're even able to cry. We don't feel anything on dope. Maybe sometimes we feel warmth and perhaps even love, but it doesn't come out in the same way.

In a week or two when you find yourself crying at a sappy movie or because your husband tells he loves you in just the right way, you'll be so thankful for your ability to cry again. Rather than fight the blues, let it flow.
