I meant "pharmacist", not doctor.  I would ask the pharmacist what he meant.  He's not going to tell you that a medication expires in 6 months, and then turn around and give you a bottle with an expiration date of a year.  I would really wonder if he wasn't talking about the length of time you've been on it?

Are you sure your doctor didn't mean that it's only good to TAKE benzos for 6 months?  Almost all medications have a shelf life of a year.  You can always double check with your pharmacist, but I would believe the expiration date, personally.

If it were me....I'd call 3 pharmacies.....and ask the same question.

If the label on your bottle says "good thru".....I'd believe what it says unless you are told otherwise by ALL the pharmacists you call.  I try to remain open minded to "new" info out there....but unless it can be confirmed by more than one mouth.....I'd believe my bottle.

if what your pharmacist said is true then the FDA would make benzo makers label them as such.  i have never heard that.
