cold turkey suboxone? Pls Help Desperate!!

Does anyone know the down side or anything about if you stop taking Suboxone only after being on it for 4 days. I am only on 6mgs a day. I was on lorcet 10's about 15 a day. I went thru the 24 hr w/d's off the lorcet and it was hell! I am not having good luck with suboxone. And am not really sure I want to go this route. However, I have quit cold turkey Lorcet 3-4 times and of course relapsed. So that's why I decided to try suboxone. Anyways, I am considering quiting the Suboxone all together and the Lorcet of course. Will that send me back into severe w/d's like when I started the Sub.? I am not sure what to do. I just want to be drug free all together! Thank You all sooo very much!

Just checking in and wondering how you are feeling?  Have you leveled out with the Sub, or did you decide to CT?

Being on sub for only a few days should not cause too many problems for you.  You will probably still experience some withdrawal because you are probably not 100% detoxed off the lortab.  In any event, talk with your doctor and councilor about the best options.  If you have quit lortab a few times and relapsed, then you need to make sure that you have an aftercare plan and support in place - otherwise you will end up right where you started in a very short time.  Keep posting.

I'm addicted to percocet and have been perc free since 11-12-09-----I got subs off the street and used a small amount 2-4mgs per day for a week or two-----when I stopped the subs I was ok for a day or 2 then I went into wds------I held on as long as I could stand it then relapsed on percs for a week or two then finally quit on my last birthday------I found that sub wds were worse for me than the percs-----It seemed that the depression, anxiety, and fatigue were worse wding from subs-----Best regards,  Jon     You can beat this If I can!!

I was addicted to Lortabs (10mg) 8-10 per day and went to see a dr about subs and wound up at a methadone clinic...I was scared, deseparate and hurting, so I took whatever they gave me...I remained at the clinic for over a year at 20mg and then woke up one day and realized that I had basically traded one drug for another....everyone has their own path, maybe I had to go this route...but utlimately everyone is going to have to pay the piper in one form or fashion.  So if you can imagine WDs worse than you are going through now, that is what I know Methadone to be and have heard stories about Subs being just as hard.  I was going to use Subs to get off Methadone, but said enough is enough and I am on Day 6 of CT of methadone.....probably harder than getting off those 8-10 pills a day, but no need to second guess, just sharing my experience.  Good Luck and Get Clean!

Thank You to all that have answered. And yes I plan to ask the dr. about getting off of the Suboxone. since i feel so bad. I wish someone could answer that question too. I have heard that getting off it is terrible. I don't want to "jump outta the pot in to the frying pan" replace on thing with another. I just wanna be done for good! This is my 4th time to quit Lorcet so I know very well about the w/d's. That doesn't scare me too bad. I am very unfamiliar with the Suboxone and would like some advice re: it. Thanks again to everyone that answers!!

I have no idea what would happen just after four days.  It would be interesting to see if any others had experience with this and could chime in for you.  I just wanted to lend some support as I know you are not feeling well at all...Hang in there....

I know alot of people who have had to withdrawal off of suboxone,, not mention abuse it. Well I know you are getting this from a DR that specializes in this so I would talk to them about going off suboxone.. It really has been my experience that when people withdrawal off of opiates it is best done cold turkey. I know it really *****, but you can't die from it. I have seen many people get addicted to methadone and suboxone.. Also when I went through my withdrawal with no meds, it keeps a clear picture in your head about how horrible withdrawal is, and how I  never want to feel that way again. (and you don't have to feel that way again if you don't pick-up) The good news is Major withdrawal will be over in a couple of days,  Then the real challenge comes in on how to live sober!!!!
