Hello All

I have a question, and I believe Ive come to the right place!!!  I need to sleep, but my doctor would not prescribe me Trazadol or whatever that is, lol...but I went to the drug store and they told me that Melatonex would work, could someone let me know if that is possible.  I welcome any and all information.  God Bless everyone!!!!!

Thank you,

Thats what Ive been trying to do. The hot baths do work, but for a certain amount of time, but oh well. I did this to myself so im going to have to push thru like a big boy i guess.  I really do appreciate all the support.  This has been quite a day!!!  Im tired and exhausted, but I can hold my boys without asking them to move because im too hot.  I love it!!!  I hope it continues.  I hope I can get a bit more sleep tonight but we will just have to see.  You guys have been GREAT!!!  Please keep me in mind, and post whenever you want!!!!

Maybe a stupid question -- but did you try OTC sleep aid like benadryl?? I can really help some people and be used safely.

Honestly sub w/drawal is just long and harsh.

You will sleep when you sleep.  Thats a crappy answer, but its true.  I took all kinds of stuff when coming off sub - including my rx sleep med, Lunesta, and it didnt matter one bit.  Until I was ready, nothing put me to sleep.

Try to just find things that relax you.  If your not going to sleep, keep yourself entertained.  I now lack of sleep can really make you feel like your crazy, but you will make it.  Take hot baths or showers, which would relax me more than anything else.  You have done really good so far, so keep it up!

I hate to be a downer but the valerian root did absolutely nothing for me....and I took tons of it.  It sure smells horrible though and was hard to take without gagging.  I personally think most of the stuff people try to take has more of a placebo effect than a real one but I guess there isn't all that much difference.   Whatever works is good as long as it's not addictive or bad for you.  Keep pushing.

I don't know about melatonex but I have taken melatonin which is just a vitamin supplement and that with one benadryl has helped me get some sleep.  My dr did prescribe trazadone and said it was  non addictive but honestly it did not help me that much with sleep.  I think finding a way to get out of your head at night is most important.  I think I psych myself out of falling asleep by being so worried about it.  I am on day 15 and it is getting better.

Personally the melatonex never worked for me, but that is me personally. Everyone's body system is different. You can always give it a try.

Thank you for the insight.  I do have to say that im able to sit in one place for more than 20 minutes and not have the worst hot flashes and then 2 seconds later the chills!  Whats up with that,lol...I was about to lose my mind yesturday, but then I found strength in my 2 boys, and made it thru without relapse.  I went to the docs, and he did get me lexapro for the depression, and thats all Ill need.  Im gunna make it!  I HAVE TO...my kids love thier daddy! and I will not allow them to live in a world without me being there every step of the way!!!..God I love them soooo friggen much!!!  Well again I hope that I can make many friends and someday help others as you helped me!!!!  Love ya all!!!

Sleep was my concern. I don't think I ever went 5.5 days without any sleep in my life. Then, I slept 3 hours and I felt great. It was a "Real" sleep for the first time in years. Then, I slept 7 hours and I got up to 8 hours yesterday. I slept for several hours at a time for the first time in years. Last night I was up all night again, but that is no problem here!

Hey - I saw your post.  I'm on day 16 of suboxone withdrawal.  It takes a while - that's for sure.  The magic number folks kept tell me was 14 days, and I think that for the most part, that was true.  I'm taking strong Valerian root (it smells like crap, but worth it) and I think it really helps with the sleeping issues.  Still sometimes have trouble falling asleep, but once I do, been doing pretty well and getting about  6 - 8 hours.  Hang in there!
