A friend of mine is trying to figure out what is going on with her kid. She keeps finding the bag of disposable coffee filters and a quickly diminishing bottle of plain aspirin out of place. Any ideas what could be up with that?

im 16 , im trying to help a loved one get clean, you would be really suprised at how much kids know honestly its ridiculous how accesible drugs and alcohol are. I hope you find out whatever the kid is doing GOOD LUCK

Who knows...if she suspects foul play she should confront him...the aspirin does not fit in but coffee filters are used to strain tylenol out of pills to abuse...most kids do not worry about tylenol content but when they strain the tylenol out they can get a buzz much quicker by drinking the left over solution...or like mentioned...use it intravenously...dont know and she needs to confront him as it may be totally innocent

you are so right..as scary as it is to know..kids are getting high off things you wouldn't even suspect they could..I wish i would have known more with my older ones too..but at least my son talks to me etc...

I thank you for looking it up for me-knowlege is a formidible weapon in this fight... Confronting a kid with actual facts that perhaps they think you don't have a clue about usually provkes honesty instead of innocent denial. In retrospect, I wish I had been more knowlegable- may have helped me steer my son away from his rocky road.

true but sad...this really pi$$es me off..seems to me some favoritism going on with certain posts..because i can think of several comments that should have been deleted..I certainly am not on here writing about how to make drugs..i think every parent should know about this book!!!!!!! it is even in the library..my son got it to find out what his sister was up to..If anyone wants to know about this BOOK..pm me and I'll be glad to tell you..Chances are your kids already know about it..

wondering why a few of my comments were deleted..Every parent should KNOW that you can get this book from your local library..ignorance is NOT bliss. It's available in every book store and you would be even more scared to know that the kids know MORE than the parents where thats concerned..yeah ...everything to what you can do with bananas etc...that makes no sense for it to have been deleted..there was just a link posted about how to make hash...?????

As a parent this really does scare the pants right of me , we think we know what our kids are doing. I hope i know what my kids are doing

They could be using those filters for so many diferent recreational drugs it is unreal from what I know. But she should follow her feelings...

i was just wondering about the hot plate because you have to be very careful when you use the alcohol which is very flammable in open flame..is she finding pans missing too?

There is a summer kitchen in the lower level of the house complete with stove.... I think she was looking for "evidence" prior to confrontation-and yes he has been known to have weed. Thanks to all for your thoughts- I will pass them on. Would be nice if she could nip this in the bud-so to speak...

just a wild guess? has she tried confronting the kid about this? The grinder could definately be used to gring the stems and seeds..and also asprin to cut other things with..do you know if theres weed involved??

that sure sounds like a possibility..I guess we did it the hard way..The coffee grinder would definately be useful for that among other things..

i looked it up ....they use coffee filters rubbing alcohol I am still lost on the asprin however

I just did a google search on "coffee filters" and "aspirin", and you can extract the salicylic acid from aspirin using coffee filters....and then I did a search on "what can you use salicylic acid for?" and it can be used to treat acne or warts.

if this kid is a teen with bad ski, maybe it's as simple as that!  :D

apparently there is also rubbing alcohol missing... my hubby recalls an old friend making hash (maybe) by using alcohol, weed and coffee filters...???

maybe they use the asprin to cut coke with as well..i know a long long time ago i had some that was cit with a laxative..real fun..i think thats when i gave it up..
