I am on day 13 and yesterday I found my self the same way. Just hot got super bored and anxiety set in, started to feel bad again. Somehow as the day came to night I got a lot better. It's a mental fight now I guess. That said, I feel the the feelings we get are still WD, but a more mental than physical if that makes any sense. It's a hard journey. Continue doing what your doing, your doing a great job and remember how days 1 through like 4 were. Ya, I will take yesterdays feeling anytime compared to that, Ugh. Heres to you winning :)
Your boyfriend is right, it is all in your head- sort of. You get these changes in moods, exhausted-tired feelings, anxiety etc. because your neurotransmitter levels are still all funky. It takes a long time for them to rebuild, repopulate and return to their normal levels and function.
What you can do to "level out" instead of going through these ups and downs is take amino acid supplements, and/or eat foods that are rich in the ones that are causing you problems.
You can find this info on the "amino acid protocol" link at the bottom of the main page, as well as some links to foods that help with these.
Researching the importance of amino acids and what they do to help keep your brains natural chemistry in balance will help you understand better as well.
HI Kris.....no 2 withdrawals are the same this is not uncommon 2 steps forward 1 step back the first month can be a rollercoster of symptoms and emotions check out the amino acid protacal down below on this page if mony is tight I recamend whey proten shakes there 15 bucks for a 2lb can at walmart and contain the amino acids as well as extra vitamins and the raw protein all of witch the brain needs to heal ,,,,....this is not a quick fix but rather the building blocks to getting well the chocolate flavor is good you just mix it with milk drink 2 a day till you start to come around then 1 a day this really helped my recovery if your not involved with aftercare yet get involved it will help you with the mind games and cravings and such ...as addicts we need to change the very way we think and reason to overcome or illness give this stuff a try good luck and God bless......Gnarly
Kris, I'm sorry to hear. I just hit my day 10 too and it's pretty good. Yesterday was rock bottom bad though - I actually cried for the first time in years from feeling hopeless. I couldn't exercise because of back pain.
Today though, is a better day, much better - the most normal day so far (started it off with a A.M. workout.)
I'm realizing with these ups and downs that anytime you go through a really rough day, you can expect a massive rebound very soon.
The flip side is, a really great day will face a low soon after. This is part of the process of us getting back to being stable.
Keep it up and congrats, I'm proud of you for making it 10 days!
Hey Kris, its totally normal to have good and bad days. It's all part of the process. Just keep taking vitamins, stay hydrated, take Imodium for your stomach, excederine for ha and walk. It's not all in your head. Your brain and body are chemically off. Drink a ton of Gatorade.
Your doing great:)
I am on day 11 and having some of the same issues. Having made it to 26 days a few months ago I know it will get better. We put our bodies and minds through a great ordeal and it is going to take some time for us to get back on track. Please try to stay positive and know it will get better little by little. Hang in there.
