day 4 from Vicodin & Ultram addiction

Hey all. I am currently on day 4 of severe Vicodin and Ultram addiction. I was taking up to 100+mg's of vicodin a day and up to 400mg of Ultram at one point. It was nothing for me to pop 10-15 10/325 vicodin or 6-10 50mg ultram at one time. I finally decided to stop this all. I went to the ER this past Saturday night and told them that I had a problem. I was put on Clondine to help with the wd symptoms. It has helped tremendously. I guess the main question I have is when will I start to get some of my energy back? My husband took this week off of work to help with my 2 year old daughter but honestly I am scared about when he goes back to work on Monday. Anyone have any advice?? Any words of encouragement? This is so hard and it is so depressing. I feel like a complete loser!!!

Hi!  Day 4 is awesome but still early.  You will get energy back!  It just takes time. I'm glad you have help with your child.  The clonidine will make you more tired than just the WDs alone.  It slows you down, so when you stop it you will feel better.

Have you looked at the amino acid protocol on the health pages?  It will help you.  Also, vitamin B12 will help.

Good luck!

It will get better. energy will return, im on my day 16. I have never felt better in all my life.
Its like a new person has taken over my body, I have ambition to get up and exercise, Stopped all drugs and am trying more natural remedies. My 5 and 6 day were my worse after my physical WD it was the emotional part that took over. For a 46 year old man to sit a cry I felt pathetic. But by day 7 I was feeling great, and so will you. Good luck and keep posting and we will keep supporting. Not a loser just sick, and you can beter yourself. Prayers with you

this isn't what you want to hear but, the more energy you put out the more you will get. it's hard to get yourself going, i know, but please give it a try. with me, i started out just walking my dog a bit further each day. now we can do 2or 3 miles without breaking a sweat. in the beginning i can recall having to stop to lean on a tree now and then. with time it just gets better and better. best of luck!
