Weekend Vicodine Usage

If one uses vicodine on weekends for 5 years is that addiction?  A friend uses on weekends only but had spell where used for 5 days in row not for two days and again for a day, next day freind told me felt extreme anxiety.....

Her weekend use will be 15 to 20 Fri Sat and sometimes Sunday.....like 2 pills a day except usually one day will take mayeb 6 to 8 if drinking.

yes you are right this has nothing to do with pain .....I truly hope she stops now before she gets so far down its hard to climb out of where as of right now she might have a small amount of discomfort but over all will be fine

Yes STOP right now, do not pass go and do not collect $200.!!!  The anxiety and icky feelings will pass within a week.  I think everyone on here started with genuine pain and the addiction part crept in somewhere along the way.  Now quitting is horrendous, much worse than this person would experience now.  

The other bad omen is that she is only using on weekends. That pretty much tells me that she is not taking it for pain, more like fun.  But the fun is only the first part...then the pain.

Yes she has a problem and if she is only doing it on the weekend she sould not have to taper down on the weekends she can just stop which I suggest she dose before it becomes a far larger hard problem to deal with.

Thank you, what is best method decrease to one per weekend for a month, then maybe every other weekend next month, in other words is it better to do a gradual taper?

Also can clonopin be good to help break vic taking?  or even an occasional alcohol beverage (one)?

if someone is experiencing extreme anxiety the next day and not any drugs.........
well - that is physical addiction. yes
better get out while the getting is good.

By 15 to 20 ment MG, she takes 2 or 3 pills usually on weekends.  Sh ehas legal RX from doc for back pain.
