detoxing from Soma's alone is it dangerous

My son is 26 and has deceided to withdraw himself off of Soma's. Saturday night he had a seizer, will this happen again. He states it won't, I'm trying to talk him into going to the ER or a detox center but he says it cost too much money, he has medical insurance he can use. Being he is 26 is there anything I can do to get him help , I thought this was a dangerous to do alone???

You're right. It IS dangerous but it can be done at home.

He had a seizure because Soma cannot be stopped abrubtly. It needs to be tapered. He may still have another seizure;it's hard to say. When was his last dose?

The smartest thing to do here is to get with a doctor for advice on tapering. This would require him to go back on the med and then SLOWLY taper off.  What he did was wrong.

He probably won't want to go and at age 26,it's his prerogative.

Good luck and keep posting. There's a lot of support here.
