Hi,
I threw them away except for 2. I have 8 mg. I took one and to be honest, I felt nothing, but it did help a bit with the pain. Anyway, I hear all these terrible things about it, so I'm not very interested in going down that route. I was able to get off the percocets and I'm not doing that again. I have two small kids. Pain is a fact of life for me, I guess there is no way around it. Love to take yoga again and spend time on myself but it's impossible. My brother died from alcohol abuse less than a year ago so I'm well aware of what can happen, it's pure misery. I haven't even dealt with the emotional pain yet. At least I have a husband who cares and two kids who love me. I can deal with the pain. Tyelnol 1 is fine, and I'm sure less potent than what you're telling me abut dilaudid - that's crazy stuff! I think my doc friend made a mistake, OR they made a mistake at the pharmacy.
thank you.
thank you.
Hello
I took dilaudid for1year for cancer treatment. your doctor should have told you that it is 8 times stronger than morphine and 3 times stronger than herion. I had to go into the hospital for detox to get off it. Cold not taper off of it at all. I had a very hard time. I'am still recovering from it now and it's 3 months later. how many mg pill are you now taking?
I was at 12mg 4 times a day and got hooked on it in a very short time. PLEASE DONT TAKE IT!! GOD BLESS and may the LORD watch over you.
Please don't take the dilaudid!! I was given this only after morphine and fentanyl didn't work while in the ER. This is the strongest pain med I have ever had, unfortunately, was the only thing to stop my pancreas pain; however, when the ER doc gave me a script for dilaudid in pill form..I threw it out..its way too strong if you're not in the hospital being monitored by professionals...that's my opinion!
Hope you do find relief from your pain!!

:O What strength were the dillies? and how many did you flush? and where can I make an appointment with this doctor? hahaha, joking about :P
Yeah, its strong stuff, about 2-3 times stronger than pure heroin on a mg per mg basis. I never found it very effective when taken orally but it hits like a freight train intravenously. I would rank it just below heroin in terms of it's "head" (euphoric rush) but without the "legs" (it had a shorter duration of action). It would probably have been my third choice of ope when I was using. I am really surprised that this doc wrote for dilaudid. This guy is old school. And yes, it is one of the most sought after opiates of IV drug users. Dilaudid is not controlled-release. It is very much an instant release drug. What's more, the Purdue Pharma tablets almost seem as if they were designed for ease of abuse, they break down in water almost as fast as an alka seltzer tablet. Purdue does make a controlled release formula, well here in Canada anyway as I understand they were recently pulled from the US market, called HydromorphContin, which are capsules filled with beads. These were pulled because the binder used in the beads is highly soluble in alcohol and people were taking these, having a drink and getting hit with the full force of the med at once, a bad thing if one is drinking and opioid naive.
Anyway, I do suggest that you manage your pain. Find something that works. Go to a pain clinic and get yourself a competent pain doctor. Pain is a total drag. All the best.

I have dabbled with both when oxies were not available ,when I heard about how many people have od on fent I never did them again.I found dilaudid to be a waste of money, not even a buzz off it or relief from the back pain that got me on this road to begin with.this is like a web wide aa meeting!
holy ! I had no idea!!!! I'm tossing them. I do have terrible pain and I had xrays etc. My friend is a conservative doc and he's never given me naroctics before. I have to think it was a mistake or an error in judgement. I am in horrible pain, but it is manageable, just have some bad days with the kids or when I can't rest. This is why I asked, I always thought it was a serious drug, like fentanyl. Yes, like fentanyl? I only had an epidural with fentanyl when I gave birth and I did not feel a thing! if dilaudid is like that, then it's gone. I already flushed it. I may have moments of addict regret but it's better than alternative. Thanks, you may have saved me from that slippery slope!!!!!
dump em...dilaudid is a DOC for many people who shoot drugs.....it is not a pain medication for a tailbone fracture...it is heavy duty and the only patients i see on it are high tolerence paraplegics and such..not a commonly prescribed pain med for most conditions...if we have a patient on dilaudid in the hospital...they r labeled unfortunately as a pain med seeker as most of them will drive u nuts...why on earth would a doctor give u that? i do not understand and yes it is one of the ""big dogs" in the world of narcotics....many people have cracks/fractures of their tail bone from minor falls etc.. and some are born with it and never know until later in life..not a usual diagnosis for narcotics..most people do not know their tail bone is broken until an xray for something else is done...be sure u need this type of thing before u jump into this..everyone has a different tolerence for pain and i am sure ur pain is real
i guess sometimes we gotta be careful what we ask for...or we may get it..be safe and dont blow ur clean time
Be afraid...be very afraid...I have used Dilaudid. It will grab you by the a$$ real fast. If you are in recovery I really don't think that is something you want to try....IMO. :-)
Hi that's what I thought. Made no sense. The addict in my says: "keep them for a rainy day" best to throw it out. I am not going back. I had morphine for surgery and it worked on the pain but that was it, so, not going through the agony agsin. two kids need me not to be ot of it. thanks for the info! did you ever use it?
dilaudid is a very powerful narcotic. please be careful woth those. it is given to cancer patience and ppl in severe pain. not a good choise.
