most addicts when asked how many they take a day are not honest.. I hope he is but like bob said above it wil not be as bad and not as long.. if he were to stop today he may loose a few hours sleep and have some symptoms but it will not be the full blown wd.. I hope you are remembering to take care of yourself as addiction effects more then just the addict.. You are a good wife and he is lucky to have your support.. lesa
I've done the same thing as many of here have (quit, detoxed and then started again) from my experience everytime I detoxed it was worse for me. But then again I went back into my same pattern or even taken more than before (tolerance levels got higher) Detox is never easy, but he can do it!!! Now is the best time to stop and before Christmas he should be feeling a little better, at least better than day 1, 2 or 3 of detox. He is lucky to have you supporting him and I'm sure this must be emotionally draining for you! I can't even imagine all the stuff i put my husband and family though. Just follow the Thomas Recipe it should make things easier for him and get him some after care AA/NA that is so important. The first couple days of detox is like a train just ran you over or have a bad case of the flu 70x worse, but the mental part is tough and that is when most of us relapse. Continue to be supportive I'm sure you will, but keep posting and let us know how you and he are doing.
Glad to see you back!!!! (sort of)
The wd will not be as bad. I went 30 days from 400mg/day ct and relapsed for 2 weeks. I was at my old dosage within several days. When I stopped, wd were not as bad. Actually quite tolerable compared to the first time.
Some of it was that I was not "freaked out" about doing it again but despite a return of most of the symptoms, they were at a much reduced level.
I sure understand the difficult position you are in. Write me if you need anything.
