does anyone know what diclofen is?

As some of you know I have been trying to quit vicodin for several weeks.  I feel like I am beating this habit, although some days the pain is just too bad and I cave.  Anyway, a friend of mine mentioned that he takes diclofen for various sports injuries and that it helps tremendously.  I've never heard of this drug before.  Is it an opiate?  Obviously I do not want to trade one bad habit for another but if it is non-narcotic and can help with my severe pain I would like more info...

Thanks!

yey....it is good stuff and safer than celebrex....I take naproxen sodium which is very similar....my son hurt his knee and had fluid on it...he took it for a week and applied ice and it healed up.....I  like it because for me I can take as needed instead of everyday...most have to build up in your system and can not be used on a prn basis...like celebrex for one

it is a non-steroidal medication for inflammation and pain...like ibuprofen but is stronger...not a narcotic
