Hi I am 6 week with my first child and I have been on methadone for the last 2 years and smoking crack everyday for the last 5 months.  But I just stop smoking crack.  My child father is still doing it. Will by baby be ok to have? And I am still on methadone.  Please help.

Yes, please talk to your OB as soon as possible so that you can work out a plan that is safest for your baby.  Your baby is your priority and your doctor needs to know all of the drug use to best help.  You will certainly not be the first pregnant woman who has used drugs, but you will be one of the brightest if you are honest with your doctor out of concern for that precious life.
God bless you both and prayers your way!

Hi & Welcome,

You need to get honest with your OBGYN about all that you have been doing. they need to be informed about your Methadone usage at birth as the baby may be in withdrawal so they need to be able to handle that.  And they need to know about your crack use. We cannot tell you if the baby will be okay..we have no way of knowing. You should be tested. Best of luck. I pray it all works out for you and your unborn child.
