feedback on suboxine

I've been reading some of your ques. and answers about suboxine, I have heard good things about the outcome from a few ppl that have been on it.  The two ppl I know were taking it to get off their pain meds, I know both were taking methadone and or percocets.  Both have said it's a miracle med that made getting off the pain meds sooo much easier than tryig it on their own.  One girl has been on subs for four months, yet the other girl never said how long she was on the subs, but that if she'd known it was gonna be that easy to get off the percs she would've gone on the subs a long time ago.  She, by the way, didn't take the subs for a long period of time and hasn't taken any pills since.  I myself am a pain management patient and have been getting info on subs for a few months now, and I feel that if I were gonna try to get off the opiates, I'd want to do it MY way, using subs, and NOT letting the Dr. manage it for me.  I fear it won't work, and I may need my pain meds to walk. I broke my back yrs ago and suffer from tremendous pain daily. I hate this viscious cycle I'm in............

I broke my back 7 years ago. Was paralyzed for a while. I recently quit the pain meds and to my suprise I found out I am better off without them. Your pain tolerence lowers when on the meds so by taking the meds over a period of time will actually make your back hurt more and make you take more meds. My back hurts less now than when on the meds because my pain tolerence has risen. The sub can work great if taken short term and if started on the lowest dose possible for you. The docs always want to start you at a very hi dose no matter what amount of pills you have taken. A good starting point is 4mg and then start tapering after a few months. 6 months is usually a good time frame from beginning to end. If taken to long it just becomes another addiction. The sub is a very powerful opiate. All you are doing is replacing one drug with a stronger one and then being weened off of it. Do your own research on the sub so you no what you are getting yourself into and so you no the propper method. Dont rely on the doctor when it comes to your dose and taper. They have a set way of doing it even tho everybody is different. You can also taper the meds you are taking now just like you will do on the sub. Good luck.

u need to educate urself on this drug...not in top list of pain relievers by far,,,methadone is truly a pain releiver that chronic pain patient r often on...sub is not legal to RX for pain in the US..it was a pain med in mexico rx-ed at 0.02 mgs....small dose compered to what the s rxs it at..a dose of less than 12 mgs of sub is not really normal from a sub dr...lil is best with sub..no big iff bte sub and methaone...one u go to a dr who got a quickie certificate to rx sub/expensive//partial agonist but tis a sticky lil drug..cant get it off ur receptors for a long long time
methadone can be rxd by a dr for pain but also given in clinics daily for addiction..full agonist like hydro and oxy..also has a long  halflife like sub..both after 21 days r tough to wd from/hand to compare but 1 mg of sub = 10-15 mgs of methadone

u need to look ahead..wds are inevitable and fear can push u to a stronger drug to avoid wd...just know that getting off this merry go round called addiction is not a ride u get off of pain free.do the work u need to do..aftercare is the ky  (: and if u pick a maintenence drug like methadone or suboxone//just know if either r used long term u will have to feel the pain of wd

Who knows??? DO we deserve it??? Probably...we used drugs to feel even better than life/and it frickin worked for a while....everything that goes around comes around..it is destiny
