It will not be fun but it does get better.  I am more of a "just rip the band aid off" kinda gal.  Last year came off 75 mgs fentanyl + 60mgs percs/ day.  Was not ready for the pain- and fentanyl is a beast to come off.  Made 11 days and switch to oxys.  This withdrawal has been much easier and tolerable.  You can do this.  Just rip it off.  When you are ready we will all be here for you.

If you let us know how much oxy you were taking, we can make some suggestions to help get you through w/d. As Sara said there is no magic bullet. I know it is a tough thing to do I went C/T off 240 mgs/day oxys and 10 mg percs 4X/day so I know how bad it can get. You just have to say to yourself that I am going to be ok about not being ok for a while. The w/d is going to feel like the worst flu you have ever had, but it is only (temporary 3-5 days) so go for it you will be glad you did.

There is no magic pill that will take the wd's away completely.  How much oxy do you take a day?

I recently stopped taking 60 mgs. of oxycontin a day. I tapered. It was hell for almost 1.5 months.  I had some valium to help me sleep but I tried to take it sparingly to avoid getting addicted to that crap and having to go through withdrawals for that.  You are just going to need to bite the bullet and get through the sickness.  I did all of the thomas recipe stuff.. l-tyrosine, vitamin b6, potassiun and ate a lot of chicken and frozen grapes. drank some gaterade. felt like crying with illness almost every day. put wet cool cloth on forehead. took lots of baths which always seemed to help even if only temporary.  some people try suboxone but that crap also has withdrawal symptoms. chlonapin is something that helps with anxiety but again, if you can, just taper. if you can get some percocet, which is the same ingredient in oxycontin and just take small small dosages of percocet when you get really sick, that will help with the tapering, but just avoid the oxys as much as possible.. taper off them with some help from percocet. but whatever.. you have some hell to go through but the fact is.. YOU WILL BE OK at the other side. There is a light on the OTHER SIDE.
