inpatient rehab is a must for some, and i have been to a couple.
first ya wanna know the good things
You will be monitored, and medicated if need be at most rehabs
you will be totally drug free, no chance at slip ups
you will be around other addicts, and recovered addicts
you will learn methods to cope with triggers, stressors, all that
you will attend and learn how to get involved in NA AA meetings
you will gain clean time
now the bad
You will be totally drug free, which means NO soda, or coffee cuz its got caffiene
No smoking cigarettes at mosta them
and the hardest for me .... NO visit time for the first thirty days, usually phone calls on weekends after 2 weeks( this alwayz ruled me out cuz i gotsta have my kids)
YOU WILL be held accountable, and no matter how secretive you wanna be, most rehabs go on your medical record
I hope you can see that the good outweighs the bad easily. No matter wutcha DOC, inpatient treatment will at least teach you more about your addiction, and wayz ta deal wit it. good luck in wuteva you decide!!
