help please

I suffer from severe anxiety. I was having a particularly bad time a few months ago and my husbands Dr suggested I take a neurontin. I did and miraculously it helped I did some research and found out that in high doses it helps with anxiety. For the first time I felt normal and not afraid. I also take effexor buspar and serequil and while these help they don't work as well as the neurontin so even though it was my husbands prescription. I started taking it I take probably eight to ten pills a day which is about the standard dose for anxiety but way less than what my husband was taking. It did not work for him so he quit taking it and had refills left on his bottle well needless to say I ran out and could not get it refilled for about a week. Well I had the worst withdrawalls and almost had to go in the hospital because I could not sleep and had the worst feelings of panic I could not eat andq

my wife had the same problem and took the same meds, her mom kept giving her klonipins and she told the doctor that they worked better but made her tired so he gave her really low dose instant release klonipins and paxil and she got better thankfully, she didnt even leave the house for a month at one time, i would assume that if you told your doctor it works for you then he/she should prescribe it

Sorry I accidentally cut my question short anyway apparently coming off of the neurontin cold turkey can cause severe withdrawal and can cause seizures I got a refill and am fine for now but I am terrified of running out again. I have about eighty pills left does anyone know of a taper or should I go to a Dr and tell them I don't want to get in trouble but I can't go through that withdrawal again!!!  I was almost suicicddal it was that bad but as soon as I was on the med again the fear went away. Please help any advice appreciated
