help with pills!

I was on vicodin for 3 years and they started doing nothing! Dr. now has me on 5 mg percocet. I must be hooked because if I run out 2 or 3 days before refill...I am SICK@@ I have leg jumps...sweats, chills, canot sleep, you name it! I hate this! I have had to turn to people I know and PAY for a few hich is expensive! The 30 mg oxycodone are 30.00 a pill! I have broken them in to and taken them if thats all thats out there. That lasts me until the next day. Those things are addictive! They really take away my pain asap! I want them more and more and find myself depressed now ALL day if none is around. HELP! Is this all mental?

Hey deeblake,  Once you start taking more to get the same feeling you have developed tolerance to the drug-----It will be hard to go back to the prescribed dose----I have been through this------the only thing you can do is take more and more or quit------I was also given the meds for pain but it got out of control so I quit-----you will find out that if you quit your pain probably wont be as bad-------Please keep posting and others will also help----I know how you feel----I struggled 6 years with addiction to pain meds------If you quit you will be rewarded with your life back-----feel free to contact me at any time------All the best to you-----Jon

Thank you both so much for your responses. Yes, I do want to stop taking MORE than I need ( which is what I have been doing) and just stick to my one every 6 hours 5mg percocet from dr. My problem is my friends call me and say " hey there are some 30's around" I get weak or say to myself.." well, one 30 won't hurt me since I am in pain today!"
I have gotten myself into this bad circle...I buy at least 3 or 4 in a 7 day period. They are 30.00 dollars here. 1.00 a gram. not to mention the w/d or having to take more of MY prescribed meds a day after I do not get a call or do not have one. I think it is in my head because I am still on 5 mg percocet or is it? WHY do I still need and want and physically have w/d over the 30 mg pill?

Hey! To answer your question it is both physical and mental------If you want to quit you will get plenty of support here---you are going to go thru wds every time you quit taking them---I quit taking percs 102 days ago---- I was taking 120mgs a day up my nose---its up to you to decide if you have had enough----your dependance  will only get worse with time---I wish you all the best-----Jon
