Need Klonopin w/d help in Vegas..very sick

Hi is there anyone out there that is having a difficult time coming off of klonopin?  I am so sick and was stupid and did two cold turkeys and then reinstated as it was the wrong way to come off these things.  I am slowly tapering off this mess now and am having a difficult time and very sick.  I need someone to help me and tell me what to do.

I am terrified as I feel like I am dying.

Klonopin is actually better to taper off of because of the long half life, "well 2nd best, valium considered the best"
When it is taken at a steady dose "EX" .5 mgs x2 a day" It builds a steady state in your bloodstream.
Then when you begin to taper and you drop say.....25mgs instead of your body feeling the complete .25mg drop...itll feel like say....125mgs "Im just throwing out numbers as a example"
General rule of thumb is to make cuts of 10%,

Are you taking your dose twice daily, or all in one dose?
It has to be taken twice daily in order for it to reach steady plasmatic state.
Meaning that you have to cut your total dose in half, take a half in the morning, then half at night.
If you have any questiong feel free to ask.
Take it easy, and God Bless

Sounds like you may need to see a doctor.  I'll say this though.  I don't think there is a single plan out there where you won't feel some discomfort or even sick.  There are just ways to make it a little easier.  I'm confident time will heal any of us who quit taking anything.  It's tough though.  Hope you can find the answers you're looking for whether it be from here or from a doctor.  Good luck.

thanks um....I  am holding my dose and seems that going from .5 k to .370 k in three months is very very slow...1/4th off the pill and wondering why I am so  sick from this?  it is not as bad a ct but it surely does not feel right.    I am frightened  and I dunno what I can take to feel better ..as people say it is time ....someone said lyrica and I worry if that will make me sicker?  some say hydroxyzine for anxiety but it makes me a lot more depressed and weird.  I am very nauseated and dizzy and feels like someone is in my brain ...it is a horror way to be existing.  I hate my life at the moment...wish someone lived in las vegas that could visit me.

PS - just read your latest post.  If a doctor won't help....time to change doctors.  There are many good docs out there that will be more than willing to help you medically rather than saying "it's all in your head".  That's just silly.  Again...good luck.

My best friend has bi-polar disorder and has taken klonipin before.  He's now on clonazapam which is similar.  He's told me that these drugs are very physically addicting.  Like just about any benzo, it should be carefully tapered.  A very slow taper.  It's up to you on the tapering schedule.  But, health wise you should only do a safe tapering, meaning if you taper one day and you feel awful, maybe it's not time to taper to that amount yet.  You may have to literally taper a crumb each tapering cycle.  Best thing to do honestly is let your doctor know and let them help you.

That's one thing I know that a lot of us don't want to do.  Tell the actual doctor prescribing us the medication about our problem.  Any good doctor is going to help you.  I know it can be embarrassing, but your issues are kept confidential meaning the outside world still won't find out.  Doctors prescribing specific medications know the risks and know the best ways to deal with the addiction to specific medications.  Embarrassing as it is, it would be for the best to get your doctor involved.  Even if you get your meds off the street.  Let them know.  It will increase your chances of being clean.  Either way....you can do it and I wish you the best of luck.  God Bless.

I am home very sick and scared at this moment...I dunno what to do ..no doctor is helping me and says it is all in my head...I am frightened...as I worry what did I do to myself..I ct'd two times and back on the k and tapering off slowly and feeling so sick.
I dunno..I feel this is no quality of life...only 1/4th off this hell and have tapered 3 months now and holding the dose to see if my brain will catch up to my body.

then I will take more off ..feels like I am dying of a disease

First off, klonopin is very very hard to taper from due to the very long half life of the drug. If you are under a doctor's care, they usually switch you to a shorter acting benzo that is easier to taper from. Be careful to cold turkey a benzo as Cathy stated, they can precipitate a seizure. I cold turkied from xanax and it was hell. I only made it 1 and half days. It was really hard and I felt like I was having a heart attack and getting zaps all over my body. I caved in and went back on klonopin. Someday I will have to go off them but not right now as I have a bad anxiety disorder. I have to be completely honest that I am not mentally addicted to benzos, just physically. My drug of choice is opiates. I actually can go a day w/o taking them b/c I forgot only to be reminded when I start the w/d. I feel for you though. Not a very good feeling. Keep posting and we are all here for you.
