Be careful about trying to do it on your own. Thats what I tried to do. The longer you are on them, the more addicted you will become. I take percoset too, have chronic pain as well. I tried to do it on my own, now I cant go a day without them...pain or not. I get violently sick without them. I have 2 little boys, and was taking them to take care of them. Now that the pain isnt as bad, I still need them to get by. I wish you the best of luck. Please be careful!

Have you tried gabapentin? It works the same as lryica but not as expensive. I take it myself for fibromylgia and it is not a narcotic. you might discuss it with your doctor. Good luck. I am here anytime you want to talk, I have had fibromylgia for 8 years.

i have been doing a little research on the fibromalyia. most of the time is is diagnosed by process of eliminating other disorders or diseases.
how is your mineral intake? most cannnot take adequate minerals from just their diet.
a lot of the symptoms of fibromalyia are also the same symptoms you will get from mineral deficiencys.
it could be worth a try???
hope you find an answer.

Hey guys and girls!  Some good advice from mchiurazzi and congrats on the 4 days too!!

sadjt :.  Are you still getting the percs from your Dr.?  I know about Chronic pain also and I made it through detox.  If you still get this from your Dr. then he might help you with some clonidine and a few tranzene to help with the w/d.  But, if not then you will need the things(some) from the thomas recipe in the Health pages. If you get thru the w/d 's and give it a few weeks you will have more of an idea where your pain levels are but I must warn you that your mind will tell you that its okay to take just one,  it's not.
I hope you will try to either tapper back down or detox off. It is hard but doable.

I have chronic pain as well...tis a bumber for sure...narcotics are not the pain killer of choice for fibromyalgia tho...lyrica, nuerontin and now cymbalta..the only one i can tolerate is nuerontin////as u have done..i got in deep with nartcotics and it wasnt really for pain anymore..it was the feeling they gave me..felt like i had to have them to do anything..go out on friday nite, if i had a date, big event at work..just about anything out of the ordinary...had to take em to enjoy my weeknd..even washing my car was fun!  I think fibro patients get hooked on them for the nrg/cos one of the side effects of fibro is fatigue..and i do have that...anyway wasnt long before i had to have them just to walk out of my door every morning..and no feel food feeling anymore..just tried to feel normal and that took 8-10 pills where a half used to have me flying all day....and it does happen so quickly it seems///like one day u have control and the next day u do not..silent illness and it creeps up on u...but u have made a big step forward by coming here and admitting u need help..the thomas  recipe and lots of other good info is in the health pages...keep posting

im also 22 also i have a three year old son.  i have 2 herinated disks in my lower back. after a month of taking pain meds the body becomes addicted even at the perscribed doses.  there is no way to get back on a schedule with them it really either quit or keep goin . you wont be able to get back on track your body builds up a tollerance so now you have to take more for them to do anything. if you keep takin em you wont be in pain but its trashing your liver eventually it will kill you alot faster than if you wernt takin em. as far as quitting goes and still havin pain they have pain management doctors that are a little pricey but help they do more injections and stay away from opiates.i also started on percs the 5mg ones them to the 30mg blues and eventually herion cause it was cheaper and worked better. just my advise if you love your kid and you wana see her grow up stop takin em you dont need them there evil and there are other ways.  ive been off suboxone now for 4 days and feel pretty good aside from my back hurting like hell! but small sacarifices.  i hope you figure out what you want to do and good luck
