I agree with weaver I too was on methedone and other opitefor a lot of years. Hang in there and when you get down to small or nothing keep posted and we will help you understand the detox state. Tappering is good I went down to 30mgs plus benzo, ect and went c/t not a good idea if you do not have to BUT, It can be done and it does get better MIN by MIN day by day. Drink lots and lots of H2O.

We can't give advice on how to take your medication, but I'm pretty experienced with methadone. The first day without is uncomfortable, but not really that bad. You had a little this morning, I think you will be okay until tomorrow. If you don't psych yourself out and make it worse that it is, I would take your meds as prescribed or wait it out. The early phase of my methadone detox was not helped by anything but time. Try to relax and don't take a bunch of drugs trying to feel better, that's how you ended up on methadone to begin with, I'm assuming. Drink lots of water and make sure you eat good today, you will be fine. Try to do something to distract yourself from thinking about it to much. Good luck, I'm sure other opinions will be along soon.
