how long does suboxone treatment allow you to feel like withdrawals

After having to have two cervical fusions in two months, I was on opana 20mg extended release and 5mg iR 6Xaday. I WAS TIRED OF FEELING SO TIRED N SLEEPY, SOULDN'T SAFELY DRIVE, AND HAVING RESPIRATORY DEPRESION AND STARTING A NEW JOB still feeling the pain anyway I wanted to try to get off it with suboxone. I've been on 12mgs over 24hr period now for over three weeks. As some times I was very busy I may not take them excaclt same time and sometimes not as much because honestly I didn't need it, but Istay SOSO thirsty like cannot drink anough water to satiate the thirst and more tired n sleepy than I was before so i wondered if maybe i shoud taper a bit. for only two days i dont take one of the 4mg doses and i have been sicker than anyday ever of my life. i have harrible headache, sweatchills nand feeling like fainting, throwing up till theres nothing left to toss , my legs cramp and my feet and hands swell. well they still did much of that PLUS I stayed constipated b4 i forgot a dose. how long will i still feel like i'm withdrawals? I havent been right the entire time. I was told that I would get my energy back and sleep bettr and would stay on for pain mangtmt. But I'm constant sleep like my brains asleep but dont sleep at night and all the other symptoms have been there they are getting more instense. How long will this last? Im losing my @$#!@ mind!!

suboxone works really well for certain peoplea nd some ppl it doestn sit well opr help at all. for youre a situation with the opana suboxone would be a better treatment med compared to methadone, usually sued for worse addictions. i am on methadone after 8 months of suboxone treatment it worked for ahwile but ie ventually borke my wrist and fell inot the hell that is opiate addiction. getting off of suboxone can be a living nightmare, it takes a month if not longer. tapering down slowly is the only way to avoid being in terrrible withdrawals and eventually over a few months, since youre on a low dose, you should bea ble to do that with little challenge. i wish you the best of luck in recovery and you CAN do it!-christos

I'm sure you will get a variety of answers, but my take is you should only take the minimum you need - - you can determine that by taking about 2 mg and then waiting 30 minutes and taking another 2 mg -  do this until you are comfortable and then repeat this dose in the evening ---- I would try to begin cutting down as soon as you can - - you are right - - too much Sub and you will have some major problems with it - -- what starts out to be such a lifesaver turns on you. best of luck to you.
