how long for tramadol withdrawall?

I was prescribed tramadol for pain from broken wrist about six weeks ago, my average dose was between 4 and 8 50mg tabs a day. Saturday 19th july at 4pm I Had my last dose, I wanted to have a drink that night and did not want adverse affects. Sunday morning I felt very tired and felt like I was in a dream and was slightly disconected. I also became very anxious and paranoid, practically in tears. I went to the doctors  twice and they suggested  that it was probably an alcohol/tramadol interaction and that I should not take any more tramadol. It is now monday and I still feel pretty awful although my worst experience was at about 9am. I feel like my state of mind is walking a tight rope and that anything could nock it off.

Am I suffering from withdrawal and how long might it last?

Thanks

Interestingly, I have no compulsion to take the drug, seeing the box on top of the cupboard makes me feel a little sick.

Thanks for your comments it does help. Does anyone else recognise the feeling of being stuck in a dream, everything looks the same as usual but none of it feels the same, like living in a mirror world?

Hi i'm 15 days off of trams and starting to feel better now, sleeping is okay not great but okay. Being emotion is all part of it. If it does get any better maybe Dr can put you all short term anti-depressant to help with the emotions. Hope this helps knowing everything your going through is normal. good luck you'll feel better soon. terri

Honestly even  with only 6 weeks of use you are looking at a week of withdrawl.Yes you are going threw withdrawl. You really need to be tapered off of ultram .It say right in the info from the pharmacy .Maybe you should bring that into the doctor so they are aware for the next person . you may have panic attacks not be able to sleep ,ache all over .You may have diarrhea and be depressed and weepy .It does get better you are on day three already .Just so you know ultram is highly addicting regardless of what your doctor says.
I have been clean from it a year in sept .You can do this.

u should be feeling much better by friday...if not sooner...6 weeks is not a long time to use...ur body should bounce back quickly if u dont have any former addictions....most taper down on trams due to seizure risk...but u r 2 days in i would not go back now and taper..plus ur dose and time of use is relatively low....have u checked out the thomas recipe?

Hey, Ive just gone through the same thing with DiHydrocodeine and its not a nice thing at all. You'll be happy to know (someone may disagree) that the worst peaks at around 3 days.

Its been a week for me tomorrow since my last "fix" and I feel like a brand new person. Loads more energy -  the works!!

Keep at it. You'll get there!!

Good luck
