how long to detox from oxys?

I would like to know about how long it takes to detox from oxy addiction.  I bought some methadones and have been taking them but think i will end up addicted to them also.  Just wondering, scared to death, with 9 yr old at home.  Any feedback if helpfu.

Thanks for the good advice, I was scared that I would get addicted, I started on 20 mgs. of methadone, I am trying to go to 15 mgs, now, I just and sooo scared I'll detox and I do not want that.  Thanks again for sharing with me, I hope your recovey is going well, I'll pray for you.  I appreciate your time.

God, Thank you for responding to me, I was thinking I was all alone, your post helped me alot. I am scard that I will get addicted to Methadone too, but I've been very carefil.  Thanks again for posting for me, I sure hope your recovery is going well.  I'll pray for you too, when I pray for myself and everyone else.  Good luck to you and take care.

i read yout post and had to respond immediately,don't start with the methadone unless you do a 5 day taper 1 time only,2.5mg's first day and then minus .5 every day until your done.you will go into withdrawal again about 2 days after your done with the meth but it wont be as bad as if you would have stopped cold turkey off the oxy's,but you dont want to depend on methadone,EVER,it stays in your system for a very long time and is the hardest drug on the planet to withdrawal from

from what ive experienced physically wd's last 2-4 days but the mental part (which im going thru now) lasts long time 10-15 days or more.im only day 7 clean. i learned a lot reading other posts. good luck and be careful with the methadone its highly addictive too. good luck keep posting!! also keep in mind-what started you using. were you depressed, if so consider talking to your MD about antidepressants. i started those a week before i quit. hope this helps some. im not an expert on this. others help
