husband is on day 6 and needs help

My husband is on day 6 and seems like he is miserable! His foot is killing him and he keeps saying he don't know what to do? He's not sure if his foot is hurting because of his surgery he had on it 2 months ago or if it is hurting because of the withdrawals. I feel so helpless and WE need some advice! thanks so much

Well the toradol was just a suggestion.  I have now found that non narcotic meds DO work for pain and to me that is a good thing........sara

just a FYI-
if anyone can get a rx for Toradol it might as well be sold in the candy isle at the local grocery store.
another FYI-
Just because it didn't work for one does not mean it won't work for another. I didn't realize foot pain and a toothache were related. They are pretty far apart on the body. Anything is worth trying especially if one is trying to find something non narcotic.

if hes hurting that bad he should go to the ER or atleast call his Dr tomorrow.

Good Luck!

yes toradol does work. my last trip to the ER, i told them no narcotics(i still can't believe i did that) and they gave me a shot of toradol. i don't think it's something you can get an Rx for. ijust don't know.
what i do know is that your brain will amplify any pain just to keep you in  the game.somehow you must find something good to dwell on besides the pain. get moving as soon as possible. being occupied is good medicine for us. 6 days is great! be good to one another.peace, sway

Most of us experienced increase pain for a bit but after that it got alot better.  Being that he is on day 6 it could very well be the wd.  Tell him it will get better and to just hang on it a bit longer.  He is doing great and should be turning the corner really soon.......sara

Thanks!! He has been taking ibuprofen but doesn't seem to help. Like i said he doesn't know whether it's hurting because of the wd's or not. i'm just hoping that it gets better soon!

If he is in that much pain get ahold of his doctor.  They do have non narcotic pain meds like Toradol that do work.  Our pain does get worse also when we wd and then it gets better.  Hope this helps a bit.......sara
