this isn't a real question just checking in. 23 days off Norco and it's been pure hell. Finally brke down and went to the doctor's at the chem. dependacy. He wanted to put ne on subroine, I propbably spelt it wrong but you guys know what I am talking about. I had done a lot of research about this drug and knew I wanted nothing to do with it. He admitted that if i did go on it i would have to take it for over a year maybe two. I asked him to put me on Klonopin because I knew this was another drug that was used for a shorter time and i could ean down from if gradually as the PAW"S
were disapating. he didn't like the idea. he gave me a clonodine patch and prescribed tramadol. First day felt ok but next day I felt like I was about to fall off a cliff the Tramadol was making me really sick, By the fifth day I broke out in hives and was climbing the walls. I stopped taking it and went to a friends who gave me the Klonopin, thank God it brought me back to sanity. I keep taking it in pieces and the PAWS is not as nea intense as it was. My gut is a mess
and Tingling and RLS. Tomorrow I go back to see the doctor I know who is head od the clinic and I am going to tell him about the Klonopin and hope he let's me have it for awhile. I also belive the clonodine patch really helped too. they just have to be changed every 7 days. As it got closer to the seventh day was when the RLS began again.
If I had To do this all over again I would not have justt stopped cold turkey especially when I didn't have to. I wasn't abusing the Norco I took it as prescribed and had no problems with my doctor, I just didn't believe I needed to be on it anylonger or at least on such a high dosage. there has been some pain but not unbearable. I truely believe a persn needs to take into one's age, length of time on the meds and the dosage, I think people here shpuld give that imformation when trying to help others. All these factors makes a huge difference how difficult the come down maybe.
And I think everyone should be warned of the PAWS and not think that after 10 days life will be brand new because it isn't. And the depression that comes on is horrible. Someone here said the Tramadol was a terrible drug and I have to agree. Maybe others may not agree about klonopin but I know it is used for detoxing off opiates and it keeps you sane and the taper from it is not difficult when done by a medical professionel.
Since I began this I have found there are free clinic available that will help too you just have to seek them out. They don't ask about income, Insurance nothing they just help you.
