Hon, all I can say is opana is of the devil. I have a lot of the same problems you do, and I'd rather lie in terrible pain than to take another opana. That's just my opinion. :-)
what were some of the issues u had with it if you dont mind me askin
Oh girl, I have major pain in my right hip, back of neck, left knee, small of back, and horrible pain in my ovaries. Thats what started my addiction 6 years ago, ovary pain. I have been clean 9 days today and I have to tell you, the pain isn't as bad as it was. You hear a lot of people say that the pain is less than half once you're off the drugs...I never believed it until now. And sure, I still have pain, but I'll deal with it. I dont ever want to go back. Opana actually gave me convulsions when I came off them. I've never had convulsions before. I think the drug should be banned.
Oh hon, your so young and on so many meds. There has got to be another way to decrease your meds and help you with the pain. Sounds like your physically dependent. Do you have a good dr that you trust? Be honest and see if there is any way you can try to ween off the meds. I know your in pain but like Kristenhere said, once your off the meds, your pain might not be that bad. I don't know if this helps. Just sounds like your on a merry go round of meds and it's spinning faster and faster.
Hon, you may need a certain amount of medication for the problems you have to have quality of life, but I think you have been way overmedicated. Others will chime in soon and I hope you listen. You may be able to work thru this list to find what you can eliminate and what you may need to be able to life. It may be time to look for new doctors. I hope you can find a way that works, because you are way too young to do this the rest of your life.
HI so young and to have so many problems you are being over medicated time for a new set of doctors you may want to hook up with a (sp) keneseoligist they take a holistic aproch trating you with natural amino acids and vitamins they use acupuncture message therapy and spinal adjustments I wish you where in the phoenix area there is a great on out here and I know lots of people he has helped but at your age your to young to get messed up with hard narcotics time to get ff this stuff I suffer 2 herniated disks and 3 deteriorating thay had me on 150mg of methadone because the pills quite working after 6yr so did the methadone now im just shy of 2yr clean and my back gives me less problems then wile I was on the meds your mind will create the desire for the narcotic by creating pain its a viscous cycle so go to the doctors and tell them you want off if they wont get new doctors at leat give it a try so many of our members have had great luck coming off this stuff good luck and God bless......Gnarly
All I can say is that my spinal stenosis was MUCH more painful when I was taking oxys. The opiates actually can create pain to make you take more. I would be barely able to walk in the morning and would be fine as soon as I did my pills. Now I'm feeling waaay less pain then I did before. It's actually shocking how less pain I have off opiates. I would have never believed it when I was told this before but having experienced this first hand I'm convinced 75% of my pain was from the pills. You should seek out a doctor with a much more holistic approach and who won't simply throw pills at you. Keep posting and I think your very smart to do something now about it.
My biggist issue is yea it may seem that im over medicated but alot of the things are for different mental problems that tend to be a issue i do have a sever case of adult a.d.h.d. and major depression and also anxiety dissorders ranging from O.c.d., social anxiety to just plain general anxiety which iv been battleing since iv been young the cymbalta is the only thing thats helped me even the slightest
I was on a lot of the meds you're on. Ask your doctor to taper you off some. I've come off a boatload and now am tapering off the last little bit very slowly. I still have pain but I had the pain on all the meds anyway. There are a lot of ways to manage your pain without meds. You may want to check out the Pain Management forum here. It's a support board for chronic pain patients.
You are so young. I'm 49 and I was afraid of all the meds they had me on. I never misused them, but I started thing what will happen if I REALLY need something ... how much higher can I go? And frankly, I felt they took a real toll on my body. There are a lot of people who need pain meds for chronic pain. But I think at your age, there's a lot of things that could help other than the meds. I know pool therapy helped me. At first I could only walk a lap but I kept at it. Some days I felt foolish; it took me longer to drive there than to do anything. But I eventually worked up to swimming for 45 minutes and then added in the ellipitcal (helped a ton with my hips.) Don't get me wrong; it wasn't easy. It was hard but the rewards were worth it. I've had fibro for 11 years now and only rarely get a flareup from it. I also found the ThermaCare heat patches to help greatly with the fibro pain.
I hope you'll talk to your doctor about coming off these meds or tapering down. Truly, they do sort of increase your pain in a weird way.
