You want to wait until you are alot lower to try an anti depressant if you find you need one . The risk for sezuires is higher when you are taking an anti depressant on top of tram .Plus there is something call serotonin sydrome that can happen as well .This is when your body serotonin levels get pushed up too high it can be fatal if not taken care of .
wow, thats alot to come off of but I am so glad your doing it. Try not to let the fear take hold of you. It's the fear that keeps us in this awful cycle of addiction. The high only lasts for a minute and then before we know it we get a taste of the w/d and then become afraid. Our minds are very powerful and you need to get your mind really focused on doing this and knowing that you can do it!! I haven't taken tramadol but i have come c/t off methadone and hydros..I have a ggod friend comming off trammys and the depression is getting him too, maybe you should consider getting on an anti-depressant for a short time to help you through it. I resisted them for a very long time and finally am gicing it a shot. So far so good. I have had to deal with PAWS and that is not fun (post accute withdrawal syndrom) Definitly look at the health pages here for the thomas recipe. It is full of good info and a list of vitamins/supplements you can take to help get yourself through this and get healthy..exercise is a must, the benefits are numerous ,especially for w/d..just take it slow and you will get there. I will be praying for you.
I've heard trams can be pretty awful too. I KNOW norcos aren't any fun either. Tapering slowly can work great for some people though! Some people hardly feel any withdrawal while tapering. i think I let my anxiety get the best of me. A good thing to keep in mind is to remember that even if you feel bad while tapering, to think about how bad you'd feel if you'd gone cold turkey! someone told me that recently, and it definitely helped! I take a .25 xanax at night to sleep. otherwise I might not have been sleeping, I'm going to try melatonin instead soon because a lot of people on here say it works and its natural! I think working helps while tapering because then the times goes by faster and hopefully you won't think as much about taking pills and/or feeling yucky! Good luck and wish me luck too! going to bed, but I'll be back on here tomorrow! :)
not to mention i can get tramadol in bulk on the internet, justs makes it too easy......
I am taper down from Tramadols, I've taken a smattering of different opioids over the last couple years but settled on tramadol cuz the high lasted longer plus they gave me more energy instead of making me tired like vic's or perc's. I'm taking about 55 a day, so tapering will take some time. I've come down from vic's before, the physical stuff is about the same but the depression is way worse with Tramadol. Hydros may be worse i don't know, but i feel for you.
thats kinda the scarry part, like you said, I have to have mild symtoms for sooo long, I don;t know how i'll focus at work.
it sounds like you're almost there though!? are you taking anything else to help? have you been able to sleep?
hi there! what are you tapering off of? I've been attempting to taper off hydros. 10 mg norcos, I've only been tapering a couple weeks, and I know I'm ready to go CT soon. Tapering has been a little painful for me, the anxiety part has been hard on me. I think if I go CT it'll be over faster. I've heard that the mild withdrawals you feel during the taper should make the withdrawals in the end more bearable, so theres hope!! good for you on starting a taper! :)
