Week Four Struggle-OXY

I was a daily user of 300mg of OXY, and have been on a tapering program for the past four weeks. I am currently on 30mg 3x daily....which my pills are given to me..or else I would do them all at once. I have found this week to be such a strrugle....battle depression...battle calling the dope man....just a battle over everything, I have even been having night tares, and ALOT of drug associated dreams....and when I wake up...ALL I think about is that pill. Why is it like that this week? I should be getting stronger...but I feel like I am doing the reverse

Having someone hold your pills is a great idea

First of all congratualtions on sticking with it for four weeks!
You will begin feeling better about a week after you stop altogether.  Two weeks after you stop altogether you should be completely over the physical withdrawals.
Each time you lower your dosage you will feel withdrawal symtpoms.  Tapering doesn't mean there wont be withdrawal symptoms, it's just a way of trying to make them weaker than the wd symptoms you'll feel when going cold turkey.  For this reason many people just go cold turkey right from the start(since it's over in a couple weeks) rather than dragging out the process through tapering.

Many people on here say tapering is the way to go and others say it doesn't wouldn't or didn't work for them.  It sounds like you're doing ok with it.  Keep it up and it'll be over before too long.

why do you think you should be getting stronger ?

now your mind and your body are battling against what you are doing to them, that is...giving them less dope. They are not "happy" to say the least. Those dreams, depression, lack of energy and some physical symptons are normal, Shauna.. do not get discouraged because of them, please. The point of tapering is not skipping wds but having them in a lesser level if posible. You are detoxing yourself anyway. To be honest i rather had wds for a week and tapering was not something i could have done .

do hang in :)
