kratom use for opiate withdrawal

Hi everyone, I have been trying to get off norco (15, 10mg a day) for a couple years now. Needless to say I haven't been very successful. Well as of 5 days I haven't had any norcos but used kratom throughout. I started with a higher dose and tapered down each day. Well today is day one of no kratom. I have no money to get more but I am looking at that as a blessing. I feel better than I ever have while withdrawaling very, very little symptoms. I have used kratom in between the times I didn't have norcos but I haven't been "clean" until today. My question is has anyone else been through something similar? Since I weaned from the kratom am I going to go back through withdrawal of kratom? Is opiate withdrawal going to kick back in? I feel really good other than some anxiety, which I know tends to linger. I have a few Valium for that tho.(I don't really enjoy this kind of med so I am not worried about getting addicted to the Valium) in fact I have experimented with almost everything and nothing ever got "ahold" of me before. Its embarrassing, expensive and I just want out! Thanks in advance guys :)

I don't know anything about Kratom, I'm just saying don't do like I did, switch one for the other. ;-)

I agree with Rosy, I took Ambien to help me sleep because of the RLS then took amitriptyline to get off the Ambien. Now I'm back on the Ambien. It's best to just bite the bullet and get it over with. Keep posting.

Hi & welcome! I consider myself lucky because I found MH before I went the Kratom route. I'm not saying your way is wrong by any means! I think it is better for us to learn how to get through things with out reaching for something to make it easier.. Getting clean is easy.. Staying clean is where the real work begins!!
I wish you the very best of luck!
Please keep us posted on your journey...

Hi- What will happen when you get some money??  That's the bigger problem you'll need to work on. Have you ever gotten involved in an aftercare program?

Most agree that the hard part begins when the withdrawal ends...I hope you have a plan in place to help prevent another relapse. Let us know if we can help...

Anyway, if you're still without wd's after 2 days Kratom free, you'll probably be okay...

Thanks for the Input :) yeah its no where near the opiates but I am not as comfortable as I was with kratom. Although I do have a bit more energy ( but I still have that really weak feeling like opiates). As I said I don't have any more money, til Friday and if I can hang in there til then, which I have to, lol, I will be fine. I get mine from a head shop so its really accessible if I have money.good thing huh :)

Kratom has its own withdrawal, I did the same thing and it really helped me quite opiates, but the w/d from it is bad, i had minor kratom w/d but i have herd of people curled up in a ball by the door waiting for the ups man.. not joking,.. I would quite immediately and dont buy more!
