I wanted to jump in and tell u,I have arthrits bad..Ra and Oa..It is hell.I feel for u.That said, when I came off the pain meds,I thought I would die from the pain..At first when the poison is leaving it seems the pain is so bad..My back felt like someone stabbed me with a knife and left it there for days..As the poison left I felt a lot of it was in my head.slowly I started being able to get around more. Now I still have pain but,I am trying to deal with it.The worst is in my hands now..I take vitamins for everything.I am still doing everything in the Thomas recipe at the bottom of page.Thinking about going to arthritis dr and try out some arthritis meds now that I have been off for over a month.Still not ready yet..Try a new dr.,so maybe u can wean off the hard stuff on to something else..Good luck and welcome to our community..

Hi, i just wanted to add something, if you cannot find another treating doctor or you go through a hard time with your new doctor, i would recommend; ROSE HIP VITAL CAPSULES ". This over the counter herbal remedy has been proven to dramatically reduce signs/symptoms of, Arthritis, Rheumatoid, Osteoarthritis, joint pain etc. This has been used for hundreds of years. It has given thousands of people their lives back due to pain.
Just a thought : )

Don't worry. The detox off heroin is HUGE compared to the detox off codiene. No buckets of hell. But your physical pain may increase at first so you need a good doctor to make a plan for you. Keep trying until you find a good one. What type of MD did you go see?

Awwh, Thanks Vic. One more thing 1971. If you have to get off the codeine , this is a great place to help. No hanging out in a room with a bucket for a month. There's lots of lil tricks that can aid you and lots of support from amazing folks that have been there.

That would be a great idea if you can not find a Dr that would prescribe this..I am sure you can find one! But do ask him to give you the anti and the other for break thru pain..Good Idea there Girlfriend..I have missed you Selfinduced..lol

Man, I feel for you. There has to be a happy medium and as Vic says a new Dr. may be in order. One more thought. Ask to have dosage reduced with a possible anti inflammatory added (I'm not a Dr. so don't know it thats an option) and see what he says?

Ok, that makes sense. Now days Doc's are very concerned about the fallout of the rx'ing of narc's as the repercussions are so severe. Have you tried to go w/out your codeine to gage your pain level now?

The Law has been clamping down on prescribing and pain meds for Mr Art or Fibro and other issues. I sure Pray he has enough sense to have you Taper. This med will take time to leave the Body. I am sure you know all about the w/ds if you were on other substances..Maybe you can see another Dr.. Either way I wish you the best.

What is his reason for wanting to switch meds? Have you ever abused the dihydrocodine? Is he open to letting you give the anti inflammatory , but switching you back if it doesn't control your symptoms?
