hey girlee...wow just cut you off...that is so wrong...first off it sounds like you have been on them for a wile ...its considered
unsafe by many to mix benzo and methadone but if you have a history of being ok on both im surprised at the dr.....I was prescribed benzo"s the whole time I was on methadone
I was on the benzos b/4 I went on the methadone so although
neather doctor was crazy about the idea they both kept me on them and I had no adverse reactions...I think most problems are caused by people abusing benzos wile on methadone but im not a dr ...I do know people OD all the time on both so your dr wanting to be cautious is understandable but I agree with the others about getting back on them..if only long enough to taper off ...getting off benzos can be tuff in itself and has to be done slowly from what I have read..so call your dr back and propose that he give you enough to taper off of them..if that dont work see another dr you need to do something soon
to avoid adverse reactions though..so call now b/4 the
holiday...good luck with this....Gnarly
it is very dangerous sweetie and your doc should be slapped wow what an idiot. you could have seziure or worse. I am also on methadone liquid form and when first started methadone was also on xanax and they told me I had to taper off b/c it was so DANGEROUS. PLS SEE A DOC... any questions feel free ask or message me...
Yes CTing off klonopin is VERY dangerous .It could cause sezuires I would get back on the phone with your doctor tomorrow and tell him u are now aware of what can happen if you cold turkey from it and he needs to help you with a taper plan to get off of it the safe way .
As Kim said I also would look for a new doctor if your doctor still refuses to help then go to the ER
My first suggestion to you would be to find a new doctor.Your doctor stopping your medication based solely on an entertainers death is too ridiculous to me for words.Secondly the 'stories' you hear about people dying from methadone and klonopin are usually people who are taking both, normally not under a doctors care.Methadone and benzos can be a fatal combination.I don't have any first hand knowledge with any type of benzo but from what I have learned here you are not supposed to stop them c/t you are supposed to taper.Stopping them c/t can be extremely dangerous. My best advice to you would be to go to the ER and explain to them what your doctor has done.Don't hold off,go now.Keep us posted..All the best...Kim
