day 13 and just wondering...

Hi everyone. Hope it was a good weekend for all. Today is day 13 ct from about 7 ish Norco 10/325 for me. I feel ok for about the first half of the day, but by late afternoon I feel horrible. Achy, shakey and just tired. Does this seem about right to you guys that are ahead of me? My husband and one of my girls were home this past weekend, and it wore me out. But was so happy for the company.  Thanks for any help!

There is a time for being impatient and a time for giving up control.  Some of the symptoms of addiction stick around long after the initial W/Ds and can cause triggers.  I am not saying it is easy to be patient.  I can just say that losing the instant gratification of taking a pill often leaves us impulsive, compulsivee, and/or impatient.  These are also things to work on and I can give you some ideas of how to practice them.

Impulsivity:
Delay- wait 5 minutes
Distract- go for a walk or do some house work
Decide- think about how strong the urge is now, hopefully it is less than it was
Compulsivity- Don't let yourself get overwhelmed with negative thoughts, or thoughts of regret, doubt, insecurity, or in my case....germs and dirt lol
Patience- The more you pray and give up control, the easier this life gets. I am not saying you have to be religious just have faith that the only thing you have control over is yourself and the choices you make.  Be mindful of your choices and realize once you have made them there is no taking them back.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat lol
Good Luck,

Larry

for me WDs were not bad from a 100 mg hydro habit for 5 yrs.  I took off work for 4 days/long weekend.and went back on monday.  I felt a bit flu-like, tired, mild nausea and a mild headache...clammy sweats at night.  It was the aftermath, not the WD, that just about did me in.  I would gss it was close to 3 months before I got my NRG back.  Tyrosine, meetings and exercise helped lots
Hang in there!

Thanks. I try to eat well all the time, but thru this I have been fanatical about it. vitamins and a walk every day too. Even if I don't want to! The lack of energy is hard, but the body aches are driving me mad. Beginning to feel like a fish I spend so much time in the tub! I just feel like I can handle all this garbage if I know its normal. I don't post often because I'm on my phone. Don't have a computer and I live in the boonies so internet is spotty too. But I read this page faithfully. You guys have been a life saver! Thanks again.

Yes!  You're right on schedule!  Try noticing what time that is happening, and go for a quick walk right before it sets in???  Maybe that would help?  I remember when I went thru that.  I would just sink down in the bed and not wanna get up for anything, but when bedtime came, I was wide awake and ready to move again! LOL I think the walk might help you.  Also, are you eating right?  Like, I know this is hard, but I wouldn't eat junk at lunch if you're lethargic in the afternoons.  That will just make it worse.  Are you sleeping 4 or so hours at night, even if it's broken sleep?

Yeah it seems about right.  At the same time your mood starts picking up your concentration and energy picaks back up.  Be happy that you had the energy that you had to play with your family and the overwhelming joy that you were able to feel when you were with them.  Also be proud that you made it through that clean.  That was one of the first milestones I ran into was being comfortable in my own skin so I cold be around people without thinking I had to duck out every 30 minutes and take a pill.

Just like you built up a tolerance for the pills you will build up a tolerance for physical activity and soon the days will be lying by instead of dragging.  Just make physical, spiritual, and emotional goals to reach everyday until they become second nature.  Try to keep a routine and keep coming back here for support.

Good Luck,

Larry
