ihave been taking 80mgs for about  4 months prior to that 70for 2 and 60 for about 9 months prior to that i took perccet for about 2 and a half years now i have come down from 80 to 50  in about two months  and then down to 30 i am  planning to go to the navy but i have to be completely off before  i can do any thing anyon have any suggestions iknow what i am in for but my desire to go forward with my life is stronger than a pill  any advice to help me make this go any better im all ears thanks

There is really know fast way to do this. Methadone is methadone.. It has a long half life. But I am sure you already know that. If you come off to fast, you will have w/d's. It is all what you want to do. Also the methadone w/d's last way longer than the pills. For me, I ended up back on the pills to get off the methadone. Also when they will test you for drugs. I do not know if they look for the methadone. If they do, It will take many weeks from your last dose, before it will not show up. something like 6weeks, maybe even alittle longer..

There you are.. when do you need to report to the military? If you jump cold turkey right now it will take about 6 weeks to feel a little better..the worst of it being @3weeks..You have the desire and that is key...it won't be easy but you can do it...your welcome to pm (private message) anytime..you can do this..

I've never been on methadone long term like that, but I've been told that it's really difficult to come off of and needs to be done really slowly.  Methadone gets into your bone marrow after long term consistent use which is what makes it so hard to get off of.  But there are alot of people here that have gotten off, whether by taper or other means.  Hang on to that drive and you can do it!!
