Quitting is a little eaier said, especially if they feel the pinch of being thrown out. It's probably all you will be able to do for him cause it looks like he's got it all figured out. Set up stiff time schedules that you are very comfortable with and stick to it. Don't back down when time comes to shove him out because it's coming sooner or later and sooner will drive you less crazy. Sleeping for days is normal for getting off but then once the body is half back the bug hits again and it's back to the races. Get some professional help with this. There are lots of city and state things going on that can assist you in making the right decisions. Try going to an alanon meeting and ask for help there.
No experience with meth use but can feel for u as i am also a mom...we do and do for our kids and just hope they turn out well and return the love we gave to them...there is a drug test at the drugstore that tests for this...u kinda hate to do all this but if she is pregnat it is even more dangerous...her ob-gym if she is seeing one will also need to know this if she is using(do u know here ob doc)...i sometimes think i could be a private detective in another life i think but this is not something to play with
I used meth for a whole year, never was addicted to it physically but it played on my mind a lot. I actually jumped off a half a 8 a day habit to taking benzo's and then pain pills eventually. I know a lot of detox centers will actually sedate meth addicts in detox so they won't have to go through the depression. I do not know if that is plausable in your situation I do not know, but the one thing that your son needs if I know what a son needs is for his dad to be there for him when its hard and when you don't want to be around him because he is being a jerk he still wants you there, trust me...stay with him it is worth it.
I was addicted to methamphetamines for a few years. To tell if someone is using can be hard at times but thats if you dont know what to like for. Look for behavior that seems to lack logic, sometimes the same way a person will act if they are having a panic attack or under a lot of stress. A lot of people also clench there teeth when their using. When you come down and stop using you do sleep a lot thats pretty much the detox. The hardest part is not stopping but not relasping. Meth is extremely addictive and having your son be employed if you can make it happen would be a lot of help in recovery. Keeps you busy and your mind off of the addiction, plus gives you a feeling of productivity drugs can become your life and depression usually comes with it. I wish you the best of luck and if their is anything I can do to help please let me know. Im sorry for your losses but just dont forget no one truly passes away they survive through your memories and love and that is something that can never be taken from you.
from my experience , look for lack of sleep first. meth will keep ya up for dayz on end, and also make ya paranoid. if you can, look in their eyes, most people using meth will have their eyes "bouncining" slightly from side to side, very hard to notice, but law enforcment uses that technique to check for meth use. best of luck, many prayers, and i hope it works out for ya
