morphine withdrawl

I have been taking about 40-50mg a day of morphine intravenously for about a month.  I'd like to stop and would like to know how intense of withdraw symptoms I should expect if I quit cold turkey.

I've done research on the web but haven't come up with any conclusive answers.

thanks!

Luckily you've only been on for a month so wds shouldn't be too severe. You'll likely experience flu-like symptoms... hot/cold flashes, sweats, muscle aches, etc. Much of it is also your mind frame. If you think you will feel horrible, you will feel horrible. You could get lucky and experience very minimal wds, many people say their first few cold turkey experiences weren't that bad. However if they are, Immodium, NyQuil, Clonidine (needs script) drinks lots of water, gatorade is better (electrolytes), exercise if you can, hot showers and time. The worst part is normally over in 3-5 days, residual wds are tiredness, lack of motivation, general lethargy and can last a bit longer but get better over time. Good luck!
