I agree all the way with Gnarly!....Methadone is EVIL to say the least!!!...Once your on it you will have no motivation or ambition whatsoever!....being on methadone over 7yrs was the biggest mistake of my life!!!!.....I've been completely off it for 11 days and the withdrawals are NOT fun!!........

HI if I was you I would rashen out the norco just as needed to keep the withdrawals of you it seams thats your only choice next im going to do every thing I can to keep you off methadone it is an evil drug with withdrawals from hell it takes months to get off then months to get better I would opt for a different pain management place I started out in pmm at 10mg 3 times a day wound up at 150mg a day and no pain relief methadone will turn on you and it has a lot of side effect including giving up your sex life both men and wemen  night sweats lathagy thel list goes on and on I was right there with you nothing else would work but after detoxing off the stuff I would have rather put up with the pain I hope you take this to heart im only tyring to help you from the biggest mistask in your life good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

That would be a fear for me.  They wanted me to try it for pain but the more I looked into it the more I realized no way could I manage the withdrawals if there was a need to come off.  The doctors were not totally honest about the drawbacks of methadone.  It definitely has its place; but I think people really need to know the whole story about it!

I have been on many narcotic pain medications in the past 27 years. None of them really worked with the pain level I have. 7 years ago my doctor put me on methadone for the pain. 40mg per day. Everything was going good until the abuse epidemic started and doctors got scared. I moved and had to change doctors. The latest doctor cut me off without notice. Finding a doctor who will write scripts for methadone isn`t easy. I`m stuck now having to go to a methadone clinic and having to detox and withdrawl off the methadone. Methadone is one of the worse drugs to come off of and it takes a long time too. In my opinion, if you can get by without going on methadone you will be better off.  Good luck and please to your research.

I'd just say really do your research on methadone.  I haven't seen too many positive posts on it.  I agree doctors should feel withdrawals and shouldn't treat patients they way they do.  But I don't see that changing any time soon.
