Can someone help me

I have been reading post after post about people withdrawing form Oxys and feel awful.  I have no chronic pain, did have recent elbow surgery.  I am hopelessly addicted to Oxys, I have a good friend who gets them prescribed but rarely uses them---I buy them.  I am addicted and every month go through horrible withdrawals as she runs out.  It sounds sick but I wish I was prescribed them but the more I read, the more I get scared.  I am on at least 60 mg. a day.  Is there any one out there who doesn't have chronic pain that just takes them and is suffering withdrawals like me????  HELP!!!

As a heroin addict I was not using for physical pain.. many use to get high. to escape emotional be it for energy or what have you.. You are not alone here... this is for sure. Going through wd every month is taxing on you physically as well as emotionally. the desire for pills overwhelms everything else in your life.. including our thinking as this is what we think about always. when we wake up with every thing we do our minds are focused on our need and desire.. Why not break free of your addiction and go through the wd process.. Free yourself from the drug that is consuming you.. Drop this friend that is selling you the drugs.. friends are for bettering your life. not killing it. Keep reading.. many including myself have lost a great deal behind our addiction.. including our health.. keep reading and reaching out for support.. You can free yourself from active addiction but never of being a addict.. Be kind to yourself and get Your life back.. those that love you I'm sure miss you.. take care. lesa

well 38 days ago, i cold turkeyt off of morphine 30 mg,and percs 10/325's about 7 a day. it isnt easy you are going to feel like you have a real bad case of the flu for 7 to 10 days the first 5 are the worst, but there are things on the health pages here that can help cut down on some of the w/d. I was getting mine from a pain specialist, i have had 1 back surgery and have had chronic back pain. Guess what after the fog lifted and i started thinking right again i have very little pain, so it is well worth the week of misery to be FREE but like the other post said you have to want to quit

You have to want to quit first and yes everyone has withdrawls and another yes to people do take them with no pain, they take them because they make you feel good.  That's what an addict is.  There is hope I did take a very large dose from my doctor but wanted off of them so I told him and I have gone from 120-140 mlgs a day down to 20 mlgs.  But you have to want to with all your heart and soul to stop.   It took me about 6 mths of reading on here before I even ever thought about tappering down.  You can always do a slow tapper and the w/d's are not as bad, It has taken me 6 mths to get where I am today so it does take time unless you stop cold turkey.  Why do you get more from her after you have already gone through the withdrawl?  I guess I just answered for you because you are an addict.  Well you came to the right place for help and support...  I wish you well and in a little while you will get alot of responses.
