off pain meds?

Well I have a Question ...I take vicodin 750s have been for 5 years..I have severe scholiosis but I wrk 2 jobs care for 2 kids..I walk with crutches and have all my life but never let my disability make me feel different..I suffer from back pain every day and wil never go away..but I began over medicating takin way to many..I know I need to taper to the recommenede dosage..and want more than anything to not take em..but wrking raising 2 boys with a disability I always have back pain from my condiotion..kinda lost on what to do?

Well also they changed my meds bcuz of the tylenol..something with less...but I think stronger pain medication..I'm really not sure wat the diff between norco and vocodin..I think its the tylenol amount

if u r taking 12 a day..u will feel a bit of wds//as a rule going down to 4 a day...probably more than a bit but hard to say,,,,i do not know if u r an addict or not??if u r u can probably not go down to 4 a day and control it.,.if u could control ur intake, u woulda never gotten up to 12 a day...alot of this depends on where u r in this chain of addiction...physically addicted?  or mentally and physically addicted?  the second being the definition of a true "addict"  which i am..but being a nurse, i do know not everyone addicted physically to narcs is a true addict...just us lucky ones!!!  LOL...(:      COL   ):
A true addict can not back track to an old dose and stay there//not as a rule//they will eventually take more and more....a physically addicted person may be able to reach this dose and stay there///but usually not without wds of some degree as they taper down to 4 pills//just my observation which doesnt mean a whole he11 of alot!  But even a physically dependent person who is used to 12 pills a day is gonna have a hard time getting pain relief with 4 pills a day...just the law of tolerence....and if most of us could go back and do all of this iver again..we would do it differently...thing is hind sight is 20/20..cos u have lots more info looking back then u did when u were living life and making decisions when u were slap in the middle of it

feel free to post here...everyone's goals are different..here u will get a negativity towards narcotics..there u most likely will not..guess if u post in a place that narcotics ruined are tried to ruin their lives,..u will get negativity ..we r all different and that is what makes the worls go around!

please feel free to post here..there will be lots of info and help on here if u plan to stop the patch...slow at late night but almost always someone is here

It is hard to find a dr to RX 12 7.5's a day...as stated above,,,abusing is not really "fun" for most..perhaps u have a dr who rx;s this much...but being that a 5 mg hydro, a 7.5 mg and a 10,,,all have 500 mgs of tylenol in them...taking 10- 5 mgs is like taking 10 - 10 mgs as far as tylenol content goes..they are both 5000 mgs cept in some pills with a reduced tylenol content...4000 mgs is the toxic level per day for tylenol and luiver toxicity..lortabs and lorcets have 500 mgs of tylenol no matter what the hydrocodone content....it will say   5/500...7.5/500 and 10/500
When someone needs this amount of pain control..the md usuasly switches them to a drug without tylenol...to me this was "moving up" in narc world..so i didnt go past the hydro use...but there r those who truly need this pain relief...and thse people should not be denied their pain relief//if that is what the narc is Truly doing for them..this is often an individual thing..no one is the same
For me the narcs were a "gotta take it to live my day" thing..but that was me...no more true pain relief other than when i stopped i did not feel good for sure...for me my tolernece got past the point of legal pain relief...course there r drs who will give u bu11loads...but i did not seek one..cos i am an addict...and it does not mean that u r

there is a great forum for pain control...this is an addict forum so u r probably gonna get one-sided opinions here...may be good to go there..most take narcs successfully for pain control and do not abuse//meaning they do not run out before refills, but them or swap etc btw friends..there is no exact definition for an addict...cos we r all d9fferent..and this is sumpin only our inner self can tell us....wishing u the best of luck...cos chronic pain and also gifted with this cruf called addiction//is not fair for any one person to carry around..but life is not always fair...but we always try to move forward

Its my feeling I couldn't wrk and b a single mom and hurt constantly..but that many pills is abbusing them not taking them as prescribed...do u think juat going to the prescribed amount wich is 1 every 4 hrs I wil experience w/d? I want to get there just dnt kno what's right?

My main reason is the back pain..half way thru my day I'm hurtin they never were able to correct the scholosis because of the severity of the curve..I had harrington rod in in 1989...sinece I've had multiple surgeries to remove pieces of hardware that keep comin away from the bone and actually have had one piece of it come thru the skin..just recently had 6 inches removed because of it comin thru and getting staph infection in the open wound..they left the rest as its fused into the bone and too dangerous to remove nemore as nerves r also wrapped around it..I basically want to b at least on a normal prescreibed low dose just to help the pain and not b poppin pills every couple hrs just to pop em ...I was up to 12 to 15 7.5 vicodin a day..nothing from bedtime about 9 til 7 am in the morning...any suggestions?

ur post consisted of alot of reasons why u need pain meds//or pain relief..noticed that as it was hard not to notice..u have lots of reasons //as stated//to use//as do I

what r the reasons u want  to stop using?  tell us those so we know where u r at?  most here can give u a list a mile long on why they need to use///their list of why they do not need to use gets much shorter...why is it that u want to stop?  u obviously have plenty of reasons to keep using narcs?
