Try and give us a little more information. Some circumstances would warrant a change. Some would be insane. Its not an easy decision ...... and we cant give you adequate counsel without just a shade more knowledge.  Are you a chronic pain patient? Thats one of the few acceptable applications, as far as I am concerned. Also let us know how old you are. Dont want to give you bum advice from guessing at anything..  But best of luck in your efforts. Whether it is pain or narcotic withdraw. Its better to be out in the open and addressed properly. Get back to us...please......................

METHADONE IS SO HARD TO COME OFF OF. I WOULD RATHER KICK OXYS THAN METHADONE ANY DAY. MAYBE THEY CAN GIVE YOU SOMETHING NON NARCOTIC.

im detoxing off of methadone, and i seriously wish i had never started it in the first place. the withdrawal is so long day 23 for me and i have mass head shocks constantly still. sounds wierd but i wish i woulda had the strength to just quit the pills. i just put myself through even more hell. to bad i didnt realize the consquences of opiate abuse. your doctor is crazy IMO. id quit taking oxys over going on methadone anyday. when i was taking oxys i couldnt pee and had mass pains in my lower back. methadone was a savior to me at that time. in the end tho its a darn ****** deal.

If the question is whether you should switch from Oxy to Methadone, then yes, the doctor is crazy -- that is if you really want to quit.  Methadone addiction is a fate worse than he!! according to those who have been on it and come off of it.  Oxy is easier to beat than using Methadone -- it is still hard but doable ---- Get some help--- cut off your supplier--- really, the best thing I ever did was to tell my doctor of my intent to quit -- I knew that by doing this, she would cut me off - but slamming the door back to the supply of drugs was the best thing I could have done.  Then become accountable to someone - a spouse or close friend. You can do this --  Just grit your teeth and you can go through it --- Oh yeah, prayer along the way definitely helps.  Wish  you all the best and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
