oxy to methadone

so ive been using oxy cotton for about two years everyday started doing 40mg a day then 80mg and now doing about 2-3-4 a day has completly ruined my life lost everything  tryed to detox tryed going away just keeps geting worse . i smoke about half it snort the other half. im booked to get on methadone on wedsday or take my **** test. yes i have heard all the up and downs of methadoen. but i think i will just keep geting and have no faith in quiting oxy any more and am stuck in such a bad rut. spending about 200a day on my addiction.   whats everyone opion on my  decsion what do you think will be a good dose of methadone for me? will i feel sick or withdraw?

I dunno if I did my math correct, but HarperOC with her thread ("Day 1 oxycontin withdrawal"), I think, did just as much, if not more oxy and she's doing outstandingly well c/t without methadone.

I would consider Gnarly's advice very carefully and a strong warning but I truly think you'll be alright.

Unfortunately I'm not outside this weekend enjoying myself, I figure I'll just hang out on this forum instead.  I'll be here all night... try the veal.

HEY DUDE settle down its slow on weekends people are out enjoying themselfs not everybody is dope sick......fist off going to methadone is a huge mistake I lived in the trap for 6 1/2yrs and the detox was horable  I was dope sick for a month and then it took a good 90 days to even start to feel better the recovery is long mine was well over 6mo there where even changes a yr later....hence I cant convince you to stay off satins drug they will probablly give you 30 to 40 mg at first it wont get you high but it will take away the dope sick feeling the problem with the clinics is they move people up to insane doses to set the hook good and tight once your hooked there is no other narcotic more miserable to get off off I have had heroin junkies tell me they would rather kick smak 3 times in a row then methadone once right now your looking at a week sick if you go this rout you will be sick for months coming off it hence methadone mantance programs....they never intend you to come off....pritty good for a doctor you never see him a licensed nurse dispense the stuff and the doctor never sees a sick pacent but makes big money doing nothing just for having a license do yourself a favor and just go threw the oxy withdrawals....read '''wannuntnormalagain'' post he just did what you are talkinhg about doing....to many people think methadone is a get out of jail free card nothing could be farther from the truth you make a bad problem worst I wish you luck with what ever you do but methadone is no way out.......Gnarly

thats it no more replys wtf lol!  so its saturday june 4th and i ahve to wait till tuesday to do my intake and get the first dose on thursday. i went threw hell and back waiting till last wedsday only to be told i have to wait another 9 days.   how much do you think ill get for my first dose . does methadone just make you not withdraw and take the edge off?   if anyone on this forum who went from doing oxy to methadone could let me know how it worked would be cool/?

ugh i donno i have been waiting for am opening in my clinic for months and finally got an openig. i hate hate hate so much being sick i just wanna get on methadone and get my life together.   ugggggh does it all just suck. thnaks alot for the replies hope you feel better harper oc.  try smoking some weed eating lots have hot showers and exerise and keep your mind busy . get some sleeping pills sleep threw the first 2-3 days and get prepared to go threw hell and back in the next week but if you can make it out the other side its all up from there.    but anyways im thibnk im gonna have to go on meth and see whathappens becasue i dont what else i can do i do not wanna be sick for a week to throw it all down the drain and get high again and be calling the methadone clinic casue im so sick and here there full!! ughh ugh help me

i hope you try again. dont give up on yourself yet. I am your age and addicted to oxy too, same as you. I have failed at trying to get sober so many times but i cant give up on myself yet. today is day one off oxy and am in worst wd's ever. can barely type this right now, but maybe you want to try to get off oxy cold turkey one more time before doign methadone? people here are very supportive and helpful.

Hey jared. As long as you have breathe there is hope. You just need to ask GOD to give you a mustard seed of faith. You are only 20 yrs old. You have a wonderful,full life ahead of you.you need to try again with all you have in you to get clean. This addiction is a monster. Once it has its claws in you it could keep you bound for 10,20,30 yrs believe I know.my husband just came off another 14 yr. Relapse.first he took morphine pills for 5 yrs and said he would just do methadone for a yr. Well that yr turned into 10 yrs and he also added xanax along with it. He was super super sick during his withdrawal. He has now been cleans for 15 months but has struggled since he was 15 yrs old. Why do you want to do methadone? So you won't have withdrawal from the oxy? Well the meth is so much worse of a withdrawal. You need to go to aftercare when you detox addiction specialist.na/aa.counselors.therapists.support groups.church you need to pray and ask the LORD to break your chains of addiction now.you deserve so much better. I have a son 25 and a daughter 20 and they have each had a few friends die from overdose to oxys they are from the pits pf hell. I will pray for you. I am sending you hugs
