Tramadol Cold Turkey

Really struggling today!!

I am on day 6 of Tramadol CT and need some advise!! I have really bad knee problems and last Friday I got some Hydros (day 3 or 4 of CT from Tramadol). In the past Hydros actually helped me because it would help me feel better while the Tramadol was getting out of my body, but this morning was my last hydro pill and I already feel so awful! I feel more awful than I did on day one CT from Tramadol alone. Wonder why when in the past it has always helped?? Maybe it is just a mind game and I am causing myself more anxiety than I have. I am just very anxious, shakey, sweaty, chills, stuffy, and all the great withdrawal symptoms. I will take a hot bath when I get off work but wondering what else can help me. I saw someone mentioned Calc/Mag/Zinc...does that really help? I remember taking those in the past and they made me feel kind of funny. Maybe I didn't eat with them or something. I could really use some words of support right now!!

Also if you taper like one pill less each week until you get to zero that's what I did and was less bad withdrawal wise (end is rougher but not as bad)

Hi
I'd double check but ct off of trams can potentially lead to seizures - just be careful. Happened to me (my story was a bit more complicated tho as I was also on codeine and an ssri at same time silly me!) just a thought pls be careful and good luck. If I could taper from 30x opiate pills a day for 15 years to none so can you (but you may need someone to hold onto your pills whilst you taper) tapering is easier on your body so if you can do it that way please do that to avoid any more problems. Good luck xxx

I now notice things at all of the stores, that I did not notice 3yrs ago. Look at all the Emergen-C packets. They have one that is a Electro-mix. It has Potassium, Magnesium, Manganese, Calcium and Chromium in it. There is also a IMMUNE System Support one with all kinds of good things in it.
If you can afford it, hit the Health food market and talk to them. Someone should be able to be helpful. Other wise I think the Stores now carry good things too.

I know how hard it is to eat healthy at first. I could not even move at one point. This is why I push the Healthy Diet now. It is so so so important. If not you can also gain some weight and have other health issues happen with the Bad kind of food. Maybe make some Good meals up and pack it away in the freeze to pull out when you are hungry. It is not to hard to make a Salad either..Ha!

Get some Lemons too! You can even add a dash of sea-salt to the Lemon water. (if you are not on a sodium strict diet) This will help keep you hydrated. Drink, Drink and Flush, Flush, your Life into a good one..lol

Do not forget about the Epsom Salt in that Bath. The Magnesium will help draw out toxins too.

Good Luck and I know YOU can do it!

Thank you so much, your words help a LOT!!! I know I need to drink alot of water and will start when I get home from work in a bit, I am a HUGE soda drinker (Coke) and have been eating so unhealthy since I went CT. I guess I don't have any eneregy to cook or prepare anything healthy, but I know it must not be helping! I think Ive had one glass of water in the last few days, I know bad! I am going to take a HOT bath when I get home and chug some water. So is it worth me going to the store today to get some of those vitamins then??

I agree with VIC. You were still in withdrawals from the trams when you started the hydros. Now your body is trying to detox off both. Sorry you feel so bad. I've been in the same boat. Keep doin what your doin. You'll feel like crud for a while, but just keep pushin thru it. Trams take a while to leave your system. The anxiety is rough, but try to keep your mind busy. Funny movies, music, etc. Music was my best friend when I detoxed off trams. Crank it up!!!  Just know it does get better. I've been clean 6 1/2 years (almost) off trams. You can do this, keep fighting. Good luck to you. Take care...

I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time.
YOU WILL BE FINE!!
It sounds like the Toxins are trying to still come out from the Trams, and now you added some other pills to the pot. Try to take some DEEP BREATHS! Keep that MIND re-directed as much as possible. DRINK tons of water. Add some Lemon to the water. Anything to help flush this all out.
It can be a Mind Game and you are just freaking yourself out. Maybe stop, if you can, putting those types of pills in you and give your self TIME to heal your Brain & Body. The Brain Chemistry gets all whacked out and it needs time to adjust back to it's proper level.

Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium and Ds are the ones that I found to help relax the muscles. It is SO important to eat very Healthy and try to stay away from Caffeine, Sugars and Simple Carbs.
Just by adding any mind-altering drugs you can start back up the Brain and off it goes and just One is not enough. Just beware and always keep that Guard Up at all times.
Are YOU getting any kind of out side Support?? This road in Recovery was not meant to be walked alone.
It will all pass in Time..Just have some Patience and calm down a bit..lol
I hope I did not come across too strong. I just want you to feel better!
Bless
