Welcome to the forums first of all, and I pray right now that you don't feel as though you're alone in any of this. I did my WD and detox from home, even though I felt like I was going to lose my mind. The main thing that helped me through all of this was knowing that my laptop would never leave my side. I posted all day everyday here and kept my mind completely occupied on "the prize" of getting free from these pills.
You can do this, you just need to put your mind to it 100% no matter what happened with you the first go around. Today I am 19 days sober from Percocet and I couldn;t be more happy OR blessed in my accomplishments. Honestly, I owe a lot of this to myself -- But to all the members here who stuck through me on my good days and of course, the bad days as well.
Whatever you do, keep posting here and let us know how everything goes. Always keep in mind that you're not alone in this... There is always someone fighting the same battle as you are today.
It takes quite awhile to develop a methadone habit seriously. Using methadone to detox an oxy habit is well accepted medically. You will not be trading one habit for another if you follow the Docs orders........should you decide to escalate your dose by yourself or go looking for extra on the street you will be trading one for another and looking at trouble. Use your medical resources......but also educate yourself a whole lot.
Dont trade one addiction for another, you dont need a fast ween, you need a slow one.
I weened of 120mg in 3 months with out any problems. But I was also dependent, not addicted.
Now that your doctor knows, do what he says or he will cut you off..and you think you went out of your mind before..you havent seen anything.
